Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

3.4

GPA, above 68 of the 69 other daily planner apps we grade

Hero Assistant is a mobile daily planner that puts calendars, to-dos, habits, notes, grocery lists and weather into a single feed. It syncs both ways with Google Calendar, Apple Calendar and Outlook, and can send Can't Miss alerts that sound even when the phone is on silent. The vendor says the core features stay free; an optional SuperHero tier adds lock-screen SuperAlerts and cash back on Instacart grocery orders.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Hero Assistant, taken from its own pages and our grades.

  1. 1

Best for a free all-in-one day planner on your phone

Its Can't Miss alert rings even when your phone is on silent.

  2. 2

    What it costs

Paid plans start at $0.99 to $53.99 per item (US App Store in-app purchases; basis not shown).

  3. 3

    There is a free plan

The vendor's FAQ says the core features are free with no ads or paywalls: calendar sync, to-dos, habits, notes, grocery lists and weather. SuperAlerts belong to the paid SuperHero tier.

  4. 4

    It runs on 2 platforms

    iOS and Android.

  5. 5

    One daily feed

To-dos, calendar events, notes, habits, a morning Daily Brief and the weather forecast appear together in a single feed instead of separate apps.

  6. 6

    Two-way calendar sync

Connects Google Calendar, Apple Calendar (iCloud) and Outlook in real time, so changes made in Hero go back to the source calendar and the reverse.

  7. 7

    Can't Miss alerts

A to-do, habit or event marked as Can't Miss raises a critical alert that plays through Silent mode and Do Not Disturb and stays until it is acted on.

  8. 8

    A 3.4 GPA, above 68 of 69

That is against the other daily planner apps we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.

  9. 9

    Keep it

The plain part of Hero Assistant you could make: calendar, tasks, habit tracking, notes and natural-language input. What surrounds it you could not. The 6 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.

The report card

Best for a free all-in-one day planner on your phone

Hero Assistant puts your calendars, to-dos, habits, notes, grocery list and the weather into one feed on your phone, and the vendor says all of that is free with no ads. Its Can't Miss alert rings even when your phone is on silent. But it's a phone app and nothing else, the Android version is still behind the iPhone one, most changes need a connection, and the paid tier's prices have no billing periods.

ToolGPA report cardHero AssistantGraded Oct 10, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyAThe core app costs nothing and covers calendar, to-dos, habits and notes, when most of this category wants $5.99 a month. The optional SuperHero tier shows on the US App Store as purchases from $0.99 to $53.99 with no billing periods given, and adds lock-screen SuperAlerts and Instacart cash back.
Free plan and trialAThe vendor's FAQ says the core features are free with no ads or paywalls: calendar sync, to-dos, habits, notes, grocery lists, weather and sharing with a partner or family. There's no cap here a normal person is going to walk into.
FeaturesBOne feed for events, to-dos, habits and notes, two-way sync with Google, Apple and Outlook calendars, alerts that play through Silent mode, habits a friend can be told you missed, and tasks made from a spoken phrase or a photo of a whiteboard. No timeline or time blocking on record, mind.
Ease of useA4.91 from about 5,100 App Store ratings, past the 4.7 and 1,000 ratings an A needs. You can say "dentist Thursday at 3" and it becomes an event, so there's very little form-filling.
Platforms and integrationsCPhones only. The App Store listing is marked as only for iPhone, no web, Mac or Windows version is mentioned, and the FAQ says Android isn't at feature parity yet. It does sync with Google, Apple and Outlook calendars.
Grade point averageVery good, out of 4.03.4

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who Hero Assistant is for

  • Fits if you want calendar, to-dos, habits and notes in one phone app and don't want to pay
  • Works for couples and families sharing to-dos, notes and calendars

Who it is not for

  • Skip it if you plan at a computer, because there's no web, Mac or Windows version
  • Not for you if you're on Android and want everything, as the FAQ says it isn't at parity with iOS yet
  • Tight if your signal is patchy, since most changes need an internet connection
  • Watch out: SuperHero is sold as store purchases from $0.99 to $53.99 with no billing period shown
  • Too light for time blocking, as no timeline is on record

Good to know

Good for

  • People who want calendar, to-dos, habits and notes in one phone app
  • Couples and families sharing to-dos, notes and calendars
  • Anyone who needs reminders that sound through Silent mode

Worth knowing

  • The App Store listing is marked as only for iPhone, and the vendor's pages mention no web, Mac or Windows version.
  • The FAQ says the Android app is not at feature parity with iOS yet, and social features are among the missing parts.
  • SuperHero prices appear only as store in-app purchases ($0.99 to $53.99 on the US App Store, $0.99 to $35.99 on Google Play) with no billing periods.
  • The day can be viewed offline, but the FAQ says most changes require an internet connection.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

The plain part of Hero Assistant you could make: calendar, tasks, habit tracking, notes and natural-language input. What surrounds it you could not. The 6 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.

It is one of the better ones too: its GPA of 3.4 is higher than 68 of the 69 other daily planner apps we grade.

What you could make

  • Calendar, tasks, habit tracking, notes and natural-language input: an app builder makes these well.

What you could not

  • Blocking that reaches every browser and app and is hard to switch off.
  • A real app for iOS and Android. Something home-made would be a web page.
  • It plugs into other products, Google Calendar, Apple Calendar and Outlook among them.
  • AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
  • Hooks into the device itself: handwriting.
  • The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.

What this rests on. Hero Assistant’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
