Part 01 · Overview
Welcome
What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
2.8
GPA, above 48 of the 69 other daily planner apps we grade
PolyPlan is a daily planner that shows tasks and calendar events together on one visual timeline. It connects to calendars and task managers such as Google Calendar, Outlook, Todoist, TickTick and Things 3, and adds day templates and automations for repeatable routines. It runs in a browser and as apps for Mac, Windows, iOS and Android, with data synced between them.
To get you started, here are 9 things to know about PolyPlan, taken from its own pages and our grades.
No store rating on record, and the version worth having means connecting your calendar and task accounts and saving day templates first.
- 1

But the free plan leaves out repeating tasks, integrations, automation and day templates, which are most of the reason to pick it.
- 2
Paid plans start at $2.92 a month when paid by the year
As its pricing page puts it: $34.99 per year (about $2.92 per month), or $5.99 billed monthly.
- 3

Unlimited tasks and cross-platform sync. Recurring tasks, automation, integrations with other apps and day templates are marked as not included.
- 4

The report card
Best for seeing tasks and events on one timeline
PolyPlan puts your tasks and calendar events on one timeline of the day, pulled in from apps like Todoist, Things 3 and Google Calendar. Premium is $34.99 a year. But the free plan leaves out repeating tasks, integrations, automation and day templates, which are most of the reason to pick it. Monthly billing is $5.99, and there's no Linux app.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | B | Premium is $34.99 a year, about $2.92 a month, inside the cheaper quarter of this category where the middle is $5.99. One subscription covers iPhone, Android and the web. Monthly is $5.99, and twelve of those come to $71.88, so pay yearly if you're staying. |
| Free plan and trial | C | Free forever with unlimited tasks and sync across your devices. But repeating tasks, integrations, automation and day templates are all Premium, and those are most of the reason to pick PolyPlan. The annual plan has a 7-day trial. |
| Features | B | It covers the whole job: one timeline for tasks and events, fed by Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple Calendar, Reminders, Todoist, TickTick, Things 3 and Microsoft To Do, with day templates and automations for routines and a Horizon board holding goals by day, week, month or year. |
| Ease of use | C | No store rating on record, and the version worth having means connecting your calendar and task accounts and saving day templates first. The idea itself is simple, and on iPhone Live Activities show the task you're on without opening the app. |
| Platforms and integrations | A | Web, Mac, Windows, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Android, with eight calendar and task apps behind it, and a subscription bought on one platform works on the rest. The downloads page has no Linux app, which is about the only gap. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who PolyPlan is for
- Fits if your tasks live in Todoist, TickTick or Things and your events somewhere else
- Works for days that repeat, once you pay for day templates
Who it is not for
- Tight if you're staying free, because repeating tasks, integrations, automation and day templates are Premium
- Pricey if you pay monthly, at $5.99 a month against $34.99 for the whole year
- Watch out: the 7-day trial is only on the annual plan, and the lower rate means paying $34.99 up front
- Not for you if you want a Linux desktop app, as the downloads page doesn't have one
Good to know
Good for
- People who keep tasks in Todoist, TickTick or Things and events elsewhere
- Seeing a whole day of tasks and events on one timeline
- Repeating routines built from saved day templates
Worth knowing
- The Free plan covers unlimited tasks and sync only; recurring tasks, automation, integrations and day templates need Premium.
- The lower annual rate means paying $34.99 for a year up front; month-to-month billing is $5.99.
- The downloads page lists macOS, Windows, iOS and Android apps but no Linux app.

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
Keep it
The plain part of PolyPlan you could make: tasks, calendar, time blocking, templates and kanban boards. What surrounds it you could not. The 4 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.
It is one of the better ones too: its GPA of 2.8 is higher than 48 of the 69 other daily planner apps we grade. It costs $34.99 a year.
What you could make
- Tasks, calendar, time blocking, templates and kanban boards: an app builder makes these well.
What you could not
- Apps for macOS, Windows, iOS and Android that stay in step with each other.
- It plugs into other products, Google Calendar, Outlook and Apple Calendar among them.
- Hooks into the device itself: an Apple Watch app and Live Activities.
- The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.
What this rests on. PolyPlan’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
