Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.6

GPA, above 14 of the 21 other business phone systems we grade

Salesmsg is a texting and calling platform for sales, marketing and support teams that works alongside a CRM such as HubSpot or Salesforce, where texts, calls and summaries are logged. It covers a shared inbox, broadcasts and drip campaigns, a power dialer and AI agents that answer texts and calls. Plans are priced by a pool of credits that texts and call minutes both draw on.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Salesmsg, taken from its own pages and our grades.

Just watch the credits, because texts and call minutes come out of one pool that doesn't roll over.

The report card

Best for texting and calling leads from inside your CRM

Salesmsg is texting first: a shared inbox, broadcasts and drips, plus calls and a power dialer, all logged to HubSpot or Salesforce. Its phone app is very well rated. Just watch the credits, because texts and call minutes come out of one pool that doesn't roll over.

ToolGPA report cardSalesmsgGraded Oct 18, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyCBasic is $21 a month billed yearly ($25 monthly) for 1 seat, 1 number and 500 credits, right at the dear end of what this category charges. Extra seats are $10 each, but they share the same credits, and 2,500 credits a month costs $84.
Free plan and trialCA 14-day free trial, but a thin one: 25 credits on a temporary number, up to 10 contacts, and a "Salesmsg Trial:" watermark on outgoing texts. There's no free plan.
FeaturesCTexting is done fully, with a shared inbox, broadcasts, drips and AI agents, and calls get routing, recording and a power dialer. But it's built to sit beside a CRM rather than be your whole phone system, and every call minute burns the credits your texts need.
Ease of useA4.7 from 1,644 App Store ratings. You get a temporary number the moment you sign up and can start texting straight away.
Platforms and integrationsBWeb, iPhone and Android, with two-way HubSpot and Salesforce sync plus Pipedrive, ActiveCampaign, Keap, Calendly, Zapier and Slack. There's no desktop app, which keeps it off an A.
Grade point averageGood, out of 4.02.6

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who Salesmsg is for

  • Great if your sales team lives in HubSpot or Salesforce and wants every text logged there
  • Handy when you run SMS broadcasts and drip campaigns as well as one-to-one chats
  • Good for clinics that need texting with a signed BAA

Who it is not for

  • Pricey if your team calls a lot, as every call minute comes out of the same credits as texts
  • Tight if you want a proper look first, since the trial is 25 credits and 10 contacts
  • Not for you if you want a full phone system rather than texting with calls on the side

Good to know

Good for

  • Sales teams that text and call leads from inside HubSpot or Salesforce
  • Marketing teams running SMS broadcasts and drip campaigns
  • Healthcare practices that need texting under a signed BAA

Worth knowing

  • Texts and calls share one credit pool: an SMS uses 1, an MMS 2, a call minute 1 and a forwarded minute 2. AI texting agents add 2 per message, and plan credits do not roll over.
  • Extra seats cost $10 a month and extra numbers $5 a month; a US local number adds carrier 10DLC fees, including a $10 monthly campaign fee and $15 one-time verification.
  • Basic and Pro differ mainly in their credit tiers; Basic tops out at 7,500 credits a month, and more needs Pro or Enterprise.
  • The trial gives 25 credits on a temporary number, reaches up to 10 contacts, and adds a "Salesmsg Trial:" watermark to outgoing texts.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

To replace Salesmsg you would be making phone numbers and calls carried over the phone network. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

It is one of the better ones too: its GPA of 2.6 is higher than 14 of the 21 other business phone systems we grade. It costs $252 a year.

What you could not

  • Phone numbers and calls carried over the phone network.
  • Texts to thousands of numbers, registered with the carriers.
  • One mailbox that several people work at once.
  • An AI agent, with the models and the safeguards behind it.
  • Connections to other products, each kept working as those products change.
  • Texts from a business number, registered with the carriers.
  • A real app for iOS and Android. Something home-made would be a web page.
  • What a company asks for before it lets staff use something: HIPAA.
