The best AI meeting note takers in 2026
Nine AI note takers for Zoom, Google Meet and Teams calls, from a free plan with unlimited recordings to a notepad that records without a bot. Each pick says who it suits, what it costs and where it stops.
Updated Oct 4, 2026 · 9 tools · How we pick
Every tool here does the same core job: it listens to a meeting on Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams, transcribes it and writes up notes or a summary. What separates them comes down to three questions. Does a bot join the call, or does the app record from your own device? What does the free plan actually limit? And are the notes just for you, or for a team that needs them in a CRM or a project tool?
Those questions sort the field quickly. Granola and Jamie record on your own device, so no bot joins, while most of the others let you choose between a notetaker bot and bot-free capture. Eight of the nine have a free plan, but they cap different things: minutes, meetings per month, storage or how far back you can read. Five list a web app, and all but Fathom have an Android app.
The order below runs from the tools that fit the most people to the ones that fit a narrower need very well. Prices are the vendors' own, read on the date shown on each tool's page. Jamie is priced in euros and is quoted that way.

How to choose
Decide whether a bot can join your calls
Granola and Jamie record on your own device, so no bot joins the call, and Krisp works the same way unless you enable its bot. Fathom, Fellow, Fireflies.ai, Otter.ai and tl;dv give you the choice: a notetaker that joins the meeting, or an app that captures audio with no bot. Fathom's bot-free capture is in beta and Mac only. Read AI's desktop apps record meetings directly from the computer.
Look at what the free plan limits
Free plans cap different things. Otter.ai counts minutes: 300 a month and 30 per conversation. Jamie allows 10 AI notes a month, Read AI 5 transcripts and tl;dv AI notes for 10 meetings. Fireflies.ai limits AI summaries and stores 400 minutes per team, and Granola shows only the last 30 days of notes. Fathom limits advanced summaries to the first 5 calls a month. Fellow's 5 notes and 5 recordings per user are a lifetime allowance, and Krisp has a 7-day trial instead of a free plan.
Check where you need it to run
Fellow, Fireflies.ai, Otter.ai, Read AI and tl;dv list a web app alongside Mac, Windows, iOS and Android apps and a browser extension. Fathom, Granola, Jamie and Krisp do not list a web app. All nine have Mac, Windows and iOS apps, and all but Fathom have an Android app. None lists a Linux app.
Just your own notes, or a team's calls?
Fathom sells Premium for individuals and puts a 2-user minimum on its Team and Business plans. Fellow caps workspaces at 20 seats on Team and 50 on Business, and all Read AI licenses in a workspace must be on the same plan. If notes need to reach a CRM, Fathom Business adds CRM field sync and a deal view, tl;dv Business adds CRM field mapping and playbooks with AI coaching, and Fellow needs Business for Salesforce and HubSpot.
