Value for money
BPlus is $9.99 a month billed yearly for 2 TB, which is about the going rate for that much space. But there's no smaller paid plan, so that's the least you can pay. Monthly billing is $11.99.
CPersonal Lite is $4.75 a month billed yearly for 50 GB, where Proton Drive gives 200 GB for $3.99. Personal Essential is $11.99 for 1 TB, and Business is $19 a user with at least 3 users. It's dear next to its rivals.
Free plan and trial
BBasic is free for good, but it's 2 GB, and a phone's worth of photos fills that. The 30-day trial is only on the Standard and Advanced team plans.
BBasic is free with 3 GB of encrypted storage, but files top out at 500 MB each and it syncs across just 2 devices. Any paid plan has a 14-day trial, though you hand over payment details to start it.
Features
ASync, old versions and deleted files you can bring back for 30 days on Plus and up to a year on Advanced. Then the extras: transfers of up to 50 GB, PDF editing, signature requests, and team folders with an admin console on Standard.
AZero-knowledge encryption on every plan, encrypted links, sync with offline access, and Tresorit Drive to reach files without storing them on your computer. Business plans add data residency, single sign-on and admin policies. Gmail and Outlook plug-ins encrypt attachments.
Ease of use
A4.8 from about 913,000 App Store ratings. It's a folder: drop a file in and it turns up on your other devices. Reviewers do say a real person in support is hard to reach.
BTresorit Drive puts your files in the computer's own file manager, and the Gmail and Outlook plug-ins work where you already write email. There's no App Store rating on record to go by, so it stops at a B.
Platforms and integrations
AWeb, Mac, Windows, Linux, iPhone and Android. It plugs into Google Workspace, Adobe, Canva and HubSpot, connects to ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, and has a public API.
AWeb, Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone and Android. It plugs into Gmail and Outlook, and the listing names Azure AD, Okta and Active Directory for business sign-in.
