Superwhisper vs Voibe

Superwhisper

• People who want dictation that runs on-device and offline
• Buyers who prefer a one-time license to a subscription
• Users who want to choose their own voice and language models

Voibe

• Legal, healthcare and finance staff handling confidential material
• Teams that want meeting notes without a bot in the call
• Buyers who would rather pay once for a lifetime seat

Superwhisper

• AI-powered modes, cloud voice models, file transcription and speaker separation all need Pro.
• The Free plan is limited to 2 modes, and those run without AI processing.
• Cloud voice models send audio to hosted servers; only the local models keep audio on the device.
• A Linux version is listed as coming soon and is not yet available.

Voibe

• Voibe Work's meeting notes run on Mac only; Windows support is listed as coming soon.
• On-device dictation needs an Apple Silicon Mac. Dictation on Windows runs in cloud mode.
• There is no free plan: once the 7-day trial ends, a paid seat is required to continue.
• A seat covers one person with one active Mac at a time, and self-serve checkout stops at 10 seats.

Superwhisper

Dictation in any app

Speak and have the text typed into whatever app is in front of you, such as Slack, Gmail, Notion or a code editor. More than 100 languages and dialects are supported.

Local models that work offline

Whisper models run entirely on your device and are free to use without limits, so dictation works with no connection and audio is not uploaded.

Cloud voice models on Pro

Pro adds hosted voice models such as S1-Voice, Nova and Scribe, along with real-time transcription. With these models audio is sent to hosted servers.

Modes

A mode sets how speech is processed, from plain transcription to AI modes that rewrite it for a context such as email. Free allows 2 modes without AI; Pro is unlimited.

Meetings and file transcription

Records meetings and produces notes, and Pro adds system audio recording, speaker separation and transcription of audio or video files.

Custom vocabulary

Add names and terms the models tend to get wrong, plus text replacements. Both are included on the Free plan.

Voibe

Dictation in any app

Hold a key, speak and release, and punctuated text with filler words removed appears at the cursor on Mac or Windows. Double-tapping the hotkey starts hands-free dictation for long documents.

On-device or zero-retention cloud

Apple Silicon Macs can dictate fully offline on the device. Cloud mode, which Windows uses, runs open-source models on providers that keep no data and is not used for AI training.

Memory and custom vocabulary

Save boilerplate, addresses and standard clauses as spoken shortcuts, and teach Voibe client names, case citations and medical terms so they are spelled correctly.

Bot-free meeting notes

Voibe Work captures a meeting from the Mac in Zoom, Teams, Meet or any other app without a bot joining, then writes a transcript and a summary from a template you pick.

Notes saved on your Mac

Meeting audio is deleted as soon as processing completes, and the transcript and summary are stored on the device, with one-click copy and PDF export.

Chat with your meetings

Voibe Work answers questions about past meetings from your own notes, such as what was agreed and who owns each action item.
