GPA, above 6 of the 11 other event ticketing platforms we grade
Billetto is a ticketing platform and events marketplace operating in 14 European countries, from Denmark and the UK to Spain and Italy. The report card
Best for European events that want help selling
Billetto is a ticketing marketplace in 14 European countries, from Denmark and the UK to Spain and Italy. Selling costs you nothing by default, since buyers pay 3.99% + €0.90 a ticket, and its own ads on Google, Meta and the marketplace are charged only when a ticket sells. It doesn't run in the US, and its fees are in euros.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | B | Buyers pay by default, so you keep the ticket price. Billetto charges in euros: 3.99% + €0.90 a ticket plus VAT, €339.60 on 200 €20 tickets, with no separate card fee listed. You can absorb it instead, and the Growth plan, for 1,000+ tickets a year, can bring it down. |
| Free plan and trial | A | No monthly or setup fee on either plan, with the marketplace, email and text campaigns included. Essential covers up to 1,000 tickets a year, and above that Growth still has no monthly fee, with the ticket fee agreed case by case. |
| Features | B | Seating charts, memberships, early bird tickets, email and text campaigns, check-in by zone and entrance, a point-of-sale system, and ads on Google and Meta you pay for only when tickets sell. Money before the event needs the Growth plan. |
| Ease of use | C | No App Store rating on record. An AI helper drafts event descriptions and suggests prices, but there are pages and tickets to build, and selling at the door needs an Adyen card terminal at €199. |
| Platforms and integrations | B | Web, iPhone and Android, with Adyen, PayPal, MobilePay, Vipps, Apple Pay and Google Pay, a public API and webhooks. But it runs only in 14 European countries, not the US, and there's no desktop app. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who Billetto is for

- Handy when you want ads you only pay for once a ticket sells
- Good for Nordic events, with MobilePay, Swish and Vipps at checkout

- Not for you if you sell under 1,000 tickets a year and need the money before the event
Good to know
Good for
- Organizers in the Nordics, UK and the rest of Europe
- Promoters who want advertising they pay for only when tickets sell

- Ticket money is paid out 3 to 5 working days after the event; money before the event comes only with the Growth plan.

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
Keep it
Billetto is free, so making your own would save you nothing.
And it is not the kind of software a weekend replaces.
What you could not
- Newsletters sent to thousands of people that still reach the inbox.
- Texts to thousands of numbers, registered with the carriers.
- Selling tickets and checking them at the door.
- A real app for iOS and Android. Something home-made would be a web page.
- It plugs into other products, Adyen, PayPal and Apple Pay among them, and has an API.
- AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
- Hooks into the device itself: widgets.
- What a company asks for before it lets staff use something: roles and permissions.
- The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.
What this rests on. Billetto’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
