Part 01 · Overview
Welcome
What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
1.8
GPA, above 0 of the 6 other data removal services we grade
Incogni sends removal requests to data brokers and people-search sites on your behalf, citing privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA, and keeps sending them so your records do not come back. It was started inside Surfshark, the VPN company, which its About page names as the owner. Unlimited plans add custom requests for sites outside its list, and family plans cover up to 5 people. It is a web service with no app listed on its site.
To get you started, here are 8 things to know about Incogni, taken from its own pages and our grades.
There's nothing free, though, and paying monthly costs double, so it only really makes sense by the year.
- 1
Best for hands-off removals in the US, UK and Europe
Incogni is the set-and-forget pick, and one of only two here that take people in the EU as well as the US, Canada and the UK.
- 2
Paid plans start at $7.99 a month
As its pricing page puts it: $7.99 per month, billed yearly at $95.88 ($15.98 billed monthly).
- 3
It runs on Web
Web.
- 4
Automated removal requests
Incogni says it covers 420+ data brokers, public and private, and that Deloitte checked that figure. You sign an authorization form once and it files the requests for you.
- 5
Recurring requests
It rescans people-search sites and sends fresh requests on a schedule, so a broker that adds you back gets another request. Annual plans run year-round.
- 6
Requests to private brokers
For brokers with private databases that cannot be searched, Incogni uses your region to pick the ones likely to hold your data and sends them opt-out requests anyway.
- 7
A 1.8 GPA, above 0 of 6
That is against the other data removal services we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.
- 8
Keep it
To replace Incogni you would be making opt-out requests to hundreds of data brokers, sent again whenever they list you again. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

The report card
Best for hands-off removals in the US, UK and Europe
Incogni is the set-and-forget pick, and one of only two here that take people in the EU as well as the US, Canada and the UK. You sign one form and it keeps sending removal requests, to 420+ brokers by its own count. There's nothing free, though, and paying monthly costs double, so it only really makes sense by the year.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | C | Standard is $7.99 a month billed yearly at $95.88, right in the middle of what removal services charge. Pay monthly and it's $15.98, twice as much. Custom requests for sites outside its list need Unlimited, at $179.88 a year. |
| Free plan and trial | F | No free plan and no trial, so you pay before a single request goes out. There's a 30-day money-back guarantee if it disappoints, but that isn't a trial. |
| Features | C | The core job is done: Incogni says it sends requests to 420+ brokers, keeps resending them, and on Unlimited takes custom requests for 3,000+ more sites. The gap is in its terms, which cap each account at three extra emails, addresses or phone numbers. |
| Ease of use | B | No App Store rating on record, but there's barely anything to do. You sign an authorization form once and it files the requests, with a dashboard showing each broker's status and expected removal time. |
| Platforms and integrations | C | Web only. There's no app on its site, and no integrations or API on record. It's for residents of the US, Canada, the UK, the EU and a few other European countries. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who Incogni is for
- Great if you live in the EU, where most removal services here won't take you
- Handy when you want removals on autopilot after signing a single form
- Good for households of up to 5, managed from one account on a Family plan
Who it is not for
- Skip it if you want to try it before paying, as there's no free plan or trial
- Pricey if you pay monthly, at $15.98 against $7.99 a month on the yearly plan
- Tight if you've had lots of addresses or numbers, as its terms allow three extras per account
Good to know
Good for
- People in the US, Canada, the UK or Europe who want broker opt-outs on autopilot
- Households covering up to 5 people on one bill
- Getting pages outside the standard broker list removed, on Unlimited
Worth knowing
- Available only to residents of the US and its territories, Canada, the EU, Switzerland, the UK, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein.
- There is no free plan or trial; Incogni offers a 30-day money-back guarantee, and paying monthly costs twice the yearly rate.
- Its terms limit each account to one adult and up to three extra emails, addresses or phone numbers for removal requests.
- Custom removals, automatic web scanning and phone support are only on the Unlimited and Family Unlimited plans.

Keep it
To replace Incogni you would be making opt-out requests to hundreds of data brokers, sent again whenever they list you again. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.
That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 4 of the 6 other data removal services grade higher. It costs $95.88 a year.
What you could make
- Reports: an app builder makes this well.
What you could not
- Opt-out requests to hundreds of data brokers, sent again whenever they list you again.
