Part 01 · Overview
Welcome
What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
2.2
GPA, above 4 of the 19 other business phone systems we grade
Kixie is a calling and texting platform built for sales teams, sold as Kixie PowerCall through a Chrome extension and a web dashboard. Calls and texts log to the CRM in both directions, and plans differ mainly by power dialer: none, one line, or up to four lines at once. Every plan includes unlimited US and Canada minutes, IVR, call queues and call recording.
To get you started, here are 8 things to know about Kixie, taken from its own pages and our grades.
You'll need to connect your CRM and set up dial lists before it earns its keep.
- 1
Best for sales reps dialing from inside their CRM
But it publishes no prices, and it runs only as a Chrome extension and a web dashboard.
- 2
You can try it first
7-day free trial, no credit card required
- 3
It runs on Web
Web, with a browser extension too.
- 4
PowerDialer
A list-based outbound dialer that calls one line at a time or, on the Multi-Line PowerDialer plan, up to four lines at once.
- 5
Two-way CRM integration
Calls, texts, dispositions and recordings sync with HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho and others, and unknown callers become new CRM contacts.
- 6
Business SMS and team inbox
One-to-one and templated texts from a business number, a shared SMS inbox for the team, and automatic texts sent after a call outcome.
- 7
A 2.2 GPA, above 4 of 19
That is against the other business phone systems we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.
- 8
Keep it
To replace Kixie you would be making phone numbers and calls carried over the phone network. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

The report card
Best for sales reps dialing from inside their CRM
Kixie is a calling and texting tool for sales teams that live in HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive or Zoho, with a power dialer that can ring up to four lines at once. There's a 7-day trial with no card. But it publishes no prices, and it runs only as a Chrome extension and a web dashboard.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | C | No published prices: the pricing page lists three plans, and Kixie's own fact page says per-seat prices are quoted per team. With no figure it sits at the ordinary grade, and there's no per-head cost for five to give. |
| Free plan and trial | C | A 7-day free trial with no credit card needed. No free plan. |
| Features | C | Calls and texts that sync both ways with your CRM, IVR, queues, recording, live coaching and a power dialer. It does the sales calling job fully, but that's narrower than a full phone system, and the AI extras are paid add-ons. |
| Ease of use | C | No App Store rating on record. You'll need to connect your CRM and set up dial lists before it earns its keep. |
| Platforms and integrations | B | A Chrome extension and a web dashboard, with HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho, Zapier and a developer API. No desktop or phone apps on record. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who Kixie is for
- Great if your reps work from HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive or Zoho all day
- Handy when you want calls, texts and outcomes logged in the CRM on their own
- Good for SDR teams that want to dial up to four lines at once
Who it is not for
- Skip it if you want a business phone on your mobile, as no phone app is on record
- Not for you if you need a price before a sales chat, since none is published
- Too light for teams outside sales, as everything is built around the CRM and the dialer
Good to know
Good for
- Inside sales and SDR teams making many calls from a CRM
- HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive or Zoho users who want calls logged automatically
- US and Canada teams that want unlimited minutes
Worth knowing
- Kixie publishes no plan prices: the pricing page lists three plans, and its own fact page says per-seat prices are quoted per team.
- AI Human Voice Detection is limited to the Multi-Line PowerDialer plan and is sold as a premium add-on.
- ConnectionBoost, Conversation Intelligence and Do Not Call compliance are add-ons on top of a plan.
- Kixie's pages name a Chrome extension and a web dashboard but list no desktop or mobile apps.

It stands best on platforms and integrations (B, above 0 of 19) and worst on features (C, above 0).

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
Keep it
To replace Kixie you would be making phone numbers and calls carried over the phone network. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.
That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 12 of the 19 other business phone systems grade higher.
What you could not
- Phone numbers and calls carried over the phone network.
- Texts from a business number, registered with the carriers.
- It plugs into other products, HubSpot, Salesforce and Pipedrive among them, and has an API.
- AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
- People on the other end: coaches. No app builder makes those.
What this rests on. Kixie’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
