Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.8

GPA, above 54 of the 79 other project management tools we grade

nTask is a project management tool that puts tasks, meetings, timesheets and issue tracking in one workspace. Paid plans add projects with Gantt charts, Kanban boards, task dependencies and budget tracking, and the Business plan adds risk tracking and custom fields. A free Basic plan covers teams of up to five people, and there are iOS and Android apps alongside the web app.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about nTask, taken from its own pages and our grades.

  1. 1

Best for Gantt and Kanban on a small budget

There are no refunds, no desktop app, and custom fields and single sign-on cost more.

  2. 2

Paid plans start at $3 a month for each person

As its pricing page puts it: $3 per user / month, billed yearly.

  3. 3

    There is a free plan

Basic plan: free for teams of up to 5, with unlimited workspaces and tasks, meetings, issue tracking, timesheets and 100MB of storage. No projects, Gantt or Kanban views.

  4. 4

    It runs on 3 platforms

    Web, iOS and Android.

  5. 5

Tasks in list, grid and calendar views

Every plan has unlimited tasks and to-do lists with multiple assignees, comments and time estimates, shown as a list, a grid or a calendar.

  6. 6

    Gantt charts and Kanban boards

Premium unlocks projects with a Gantt chart view, Kanban boards, subtasks, task dependencies and milestones.

  7. 7

    Meeting management

Meeting management is included on every plan. Calls can be scheduled on Microsoft Teams or Google Meet from nTask Meetings, and a Zoom integration is listed too.

  8. 8

    A 2.8 GPA, above 54 of 79

That is against the other project management tools we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.

  9. 9

    Keep it

The plain part of nTask you could make: tasks, kanban boards, Gantt & timelines, time tracking, issue tracking and calendar. What surrounds it you could not. The 4 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.

The report card

Best for Gantt and Kanban on a small budget

nTask puts tasks, meetings, timesheets and issue tracking in one workspace, with projects, Gantt charts, Kanban boards and budgets on Premium at $3 a user a month billed yearly. The free plan is for up to 5 people and has no projects, Gantt or Kanban at all, plus 100MB of storage. There are no refunds, no desktop app, and custom fields and single sign-on cost more.

ToolGPA report cardnTaskGraded Oct 10, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyAPremium is $3 a user a month billed yearly, $4 monthly, where this category's cheapest quarter starts at $5.10, and it brings unlimited projects, Gantt and Kanban views, dependencies and budget tracking. Business, with custom fields and risk tracking, is $8. No refunds, mind.
Free plan and trialCBasic is free for up to 5 people with unlimited workspaces and tasks, meetings, issue tracking and timesheets. But it has 100MB of storage and no projects, Gantt charts or Kanban boards, so the project half of the product is missing.
FeaturesBTasks as a list, grid or calendar, then projects on Premium with Gantt charts, Kanban boards, subtasks, dependencies and milestones, with meetings, time tracking, timesheets and issue tracking on every plan, budgets on Premium, and risk tracking and custom fields on Business.
Ease of useCNo store rating on record. Having tasks, meetings and timesheets in one place does cut the faff, and you can book a Teams or Meet call from inside it, but you're still setting up workspaces and projects, and the free plan leaves out the views most people start with.
Platforms and integrationsBWeb, iPhone and Android, with no desktop app mentioned anywhere. It does connect to Google, Outlook and Apple calendars, Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, Slack and Zapier.
Grade point averageGood, out of 4.02.8

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who nTask is for

  • Fits if you're a small team wanting tasks, meetings and timesheets in one tool, with projects from $3 a user
  • Works for teams that log issues and project risks next to their tasks

Who it is not for

  • Tight if you're staying free, as Basic stops at 5 members and 100MB with no projects, Gantt or Kanban
  • Skip it if you might change your mind, because nTask doesn't offer refunds
  • Pricey if you need custom fields, custom roles, risk tracking or advanced reports, which need Business at $8 a user
  • Not for you if you need single sign-on, which is Enterprise only at a custom price
  • Watch out: there's no desktop app, advanced reporting is still in beta, and the paid trials last 7 days

Good to know

Good for

  • Small teams that want tasks, meetings and timesheets in one free tool
  • Teams looking for low per-user prices on Gantt and Kanban views
  • Teams that log issues and project risks next to their tasks

Worth knowing

  • The free Basic plan stops at 5 team members and 100MB of storage and has no projects, Gantt charts or Kanban boards.
  • Custom fields, risk tracking, custom roles and advanced reporting need Business; SSO is Enterprise only.
  • nTask does not offer refunds: a cancelled plan runs to the end of the paid period and then drops to Basic.
  • The pricing page lists iOS and Android apps next to the web app; no desktop app is mentioned.

It stands best on value for money (A, above 68 of 79) and worst on ease of use (C, above 2).

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

The plain part of nTask you could make: tasks, kanban boards, Gantt & timelines, time tracking, issue tracking and calendar. What surrounds it you could not. The 4 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.

It is one of the better ones too: its GPA of 2.8 is higher than 54 of the 79 other project management tools we grade. It costs $36 a year.

What you could make

  • Tasks, kanban boards, Gantt & timelines, time tracking, issue tracking and calendar: an app builder makes these well.

What you could not

  • A real app for iOS and Android. Something home-made would be a web page.
  • It is priced for each person, which means accounts and billing for a team.
  • It plugs into other products, Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar and Apple Calendar among them.
  • The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.

What this rests on. nTask’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
