Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.0

GPA, above 2 of the 69 other daily planner apps we grade

Owaves is a day planner for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch that lays out sleep, meals, exercise, work and other activities on a 24-hour clock face. Its App Store listing is now titled Owaves: My BodyClock, and a paid tier called BodyClock AI Plus adds daily recommendations for when to sleep, focus, exercise and eat, based on chronotype and Apple Health data. Day planning, seasonal goals and a peer support group are free.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Owaves, taken from its own pages and our grades.

The whole day sits on one clock face, so you can see where sleep ends and work starts without reading a list.
From our grade for ease of use
  1. 1

The clock planner is free on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, but Day Plans and goals are capped at a number it doesn't state.

As its pricing page puts it: $12.99 per month, or $99.99 per year (US App Store).

  3. 3

    There is a free plan

Free to download and use: the My Clock 24-hour planner, My Goals, the My Moai peer group, Apple Health and Apple Watch support. Day Plans and goals are capped; the cap is not stated.

The report card

Best for seeing your whole day on a 24-hour clock

Owaves draws your day as a 24-hour clock face, with sleep, meals, exercise and work as slices around it. The clock planner is free on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, but Day Plans and goals are capped at a number it doesn't state. The AI timing advice and your own categories cost $12.99 a month, and there's no Mac, web or Android version.

ToolGPA report cardOwavesGraded Oct 10, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyCPlus is $99.99 a year, about $8.33 a month, which is above the $5.99 middle of this category and under the $10 dearer quarter. Pay monthly and it's $12.99, past the dear end. What it buys is the AI timing advice, your own categories and no cap on Day Plans or goals.
Free plan and trialCThe clock planner, seasonal goals, the My Moai friends group and Apple Health and Watch support are all free, with no ads. But Day Plans and goals are capped on the free version and Owaves doesn't say at how many, and there's no trial on record.
FeaturesCIt does the clock-face day fully, and that's a smaller job than most planners here: no task list, no two-way calendar. Day Plans repeat by weekday or season, goals collect into a vision board, and Apple Health compares the plan with what you did. Your own categories are locked to Plus.
Ease of useB4.61 from about 1,800 App Store ratings. The whole day sits on one clock face, so you can see where sleep ends and work starts without reading a list.
Platforms and integrationsDiPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, which is really one operating system and no computer at all. Apple Health and the calendars on your device sync in, and that's the whole list. No Mac or web version, and Android is a waitlist with no release date.
Grade point averageFair, out of 4.02.0

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who Owaves is for

  • Fits if you want sleep, meals and exercise planned on the same clock as work
  • Works for iPhone and Apple Watch owners who already track things in Apple Health

Who it is not for

  • Skip it if you're on Android, where there's only a waitlist and no release date
  • Not for you if you plan at a desk, as there's no Mac or web version
  • Pricey if all you want is your own categories, since those need Plus at $12.99 a month or $99.99 a year
  • Tight if you're staying free, because Day Plans and goals are capped and Owaves doesn't say at how many
  • Too light for task lists or two-way calendar work, and the iPad app lacks some iPhone features

Good to know

Good for

  • People who want to plan sleep, meals and exercise alongside work
  • Visual planners who prefer a 24-hour clock face to a list or grid
  • iPhone and Apple Watch users who already track activity in Apple Health

Worth knowing

  • It runs on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch only: the vendor has no Mac or web version, and Android is a waitlist with no release date.
  • Custom categories, unlimited Day Plans, unlimited goals and the AI recommendations need the Plus subscription.
  • A Pro tier with one-on-one coaching was announced in 2025, but the US App Store lists prices for Plus only.
  • The vendor's FAQ says the iPad app has most, but not all, iPhone features; My Moai was still being added.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Your call

A daily planner at its plainest is today's tasks laid along a timeline.

You could make the core of Owaves for yourself: calendar and goals. What you would give up is listed below. Whether that is worth the price is your call. It costs $99.99 a year.

What you could make

  • Calendar and goals: an app builder makes these well.

What you could not

  • A real app for iOS. Something home-made would be a web page.
  • AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
  • Hooks into the device itself: an Apple Watch app and widgets.

What this rests on. Owaves’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
