Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.2

GPA, above 10 of the 34 other website and landing page builders we grade

Pagecloud drafts a small-business website from a short guided interview about the business, then lets you change it by asking its AI assistant or by clicking on the page. Every plan includes hosting, SSL, a forms inbox, built-in analytics you can question in plain words and AI image editing; plans differ only in AI usage and team seats. The original drag-and-drop builder is still offered as Pagecloud Classic.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Pagecloud, taken from its own pages and our grades.

Forms land in an inbox and the analytics answer plain questions.

The report card

Best for a small-business site drafted by AI from a chat

Pagecloud asks you a few questions about your business, then its AI drafts the site, and you change it by asking or by clicking on the page. Forms land in an inbox and the analytics answer plain questions. But Launch is $22 a month, there's no store, and nothing goes live until you pay.

SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyCLaunch is $22 a month billed yearly ($26 monthly), at this category's dearer quarter. Yearly plans throw in a domain and a year of Google Workspace for one user. Plans differ only in AI use and seats, and Pagecloud states the AI allowance only as multiples, with no numbers.
Free plan and trialCYou can build, edit and preview a site for free with no time limit, which is a fair way to try it. But publishing it live needs a paid plan, so it's a trial in all but name.
FeaturesCAI drafting, editing by asking or clicking, AI image edits, a forms inbox, analytics, SEO settings and embeds. The gap the listing names: no store, as selling stays in Pagecloud Classic, a separate older builder with its own plans.
Ease of useCNo store rating on record. The interview gets you a first draft quickly and you can just ask for changes, but outside tools go in by pasting embed code.
Platforms and integrationsBA web app with no phone or desktop app listed. Embeds bring in YouTube, Google Maps, Spotify, Mailchimp and Eventbrite, with Unsplash photos and Google Workspace for email.
Grade point averageFair, out of 4.02.2

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who Pagecloud is for

  • Great if you'd rather answer questions than design a site yourself
  • Handy when inquiries are the point of the site and you want them in one inbox
  • Good for small teams, as Grow lets up to 10 people edit one site

Who it is not for

  • Skip it if you want to sell online, as there's no built-in store
  • Pricey if you just need a simple page, as Launch is $22 a month billed yearly
  • Not for you if you want your AI allowance in numbers, as Pagecloud doesn't give one

Good to know

Good for

  • Small businesses that want a site without writing or designing it
  • Professionals who need a site that turns visits into inquiries
  • Small teams that want to edit one site together

Worth knowing

  • Publishing a live site needs a paid plan; building and previewing are free.
  • Pagecloud AI has no built-in store; e-commerce stays in Pagecloud Classic, a separate older builder with its own plans and add-ons.
  • AI allowances are given only as multiples of Launch, with no numbers; extra AI credits are sold in bundles, and normal use is not charged during the beta.
  • Outside tools are added by pasting embed code, and some of them need their own paid account.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

To replace Pagecloud you would be making a builder that other people can use without writing code. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 16 of the 34 other website and landing page builders grade higher. It costs $264 a year.

What you could make

  • Forms: an app builder makes this well.

What you could not

  • A builder that other people can use without writing code.
  • An image model, which you can rent by the picture but not make.
  • It plugs into other products, YouTube, Google Maps and Spotify among them.
  • AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.

What this rests on. Pagecloud’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
