Part 01 · Overview
Welcome
What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
2.4
GPA, above 7 of the 12 other popup and widget tools we grade
POWR is a library of more than 60 small apps that are added to any website: popups, form builders, photo and video galleries, social feeds, countdown timers, product reviews, live chat and payment buttons. Each app has a free version, and the Starter and Pro upgrades are bought one app type at a time, while the Business plan unlocks every app on the account. Apps install on Shopify, Wix, Squarespace and other builders, or with embed code.
To get you started, here are 9 things to know about POWR, taken from its own pages and our grades.
- 1
Best for a cheap popup plus a few other widgets
The catch is that you pay per app, so a popup, a form and a feed soon add up.
- 2
Paid plans start at $4.83 a month
As its pricing page puts it: $4.83 per app / month, billed annually.
- 3
There is a free plan
Every app has a free version; the free Popup allows 5 popup elements and 25 submissions a month, shows POWR branding and has no exit intent.
- 4
It runs on Web
Web.
- 5
Popups for many jobs
Email sign-up, coupon, exit-intent, abandoned-cart, age-check, survey and promotion popups, with more than 250 templates to start from.
- 6
Triggers and display rules
From Pro, show a popup on exit intent, after a delay or on a click, cap how often visitors see it and schedule campaigns for set dates.
- 7
60+ other website apps
Form builders, photo and video galleries, Instagram and social feeds, countdown timers, product reviews, FAQ, live chat and PayPal or Stripe buttons.
- 8
A 2.4 GPA, above 7 of 12
That is against the other popup and widget tools we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.
- 9
Keep it
To replace POWR you would be making a builder that other people can use without writing code. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

The report card
Best for a cheap popup plus a few other widgets
POWR is a shop of 60+ small website apps, and the popup is one of them: sign-ups, coupons, age checks and exit-intent offers, with 250+ templates. The popup's Pro plan is cheap at $11.87 a month billed yearly. The catch is that you pay per app, so a popup, a form and a feed soon add up.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | B | Graded on the popup app alone. A site with 20,000 visitors needs Pro for exit intent and 1,000 sign-ups a month: $11.87 billed yearly ($15.84 monthly), in the cheapest quarter here. But each app is priced on its own, and all of them means Business at $79.19. |
| Free plan and trial | C | Every app has a free version, but the free popup stops at 25 sign-ups a month, shows POWR branding and has no exit intent. Starter at $4.83 drops the branding but keeps the 25 cap. Fine for a look, not for a real site. |
| Features | C | Set beside its listed alternatives, which is fairer for a library of 60+ apps: the popup has 250+ templates, coupon, survey and age-check types, and exit-intent, delay and click triggers on Pro. There's no A/B testing on record, though, and the other apps are a different job. |
| Ease of use | C | No rating on record. It installs as an app on Shopify, Wix and Squarespace or with embed code, and the editor needs no code, but you still build each popup and set its triggers. |
| Platforms and integrations | B | Web only, but its apps install on more than 70 platforms, including Shopify, Wix, BigCommerce, Squarespace and Joomla, and Pro syncs to Mailchimp, Google Sheets and Zapier. No desktop or phone app. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who POWR is for
- Great if you're on Wix, Squarespace or Shopify and want a popup without code
- Handy when you need a popup and maybe one more widget, like a form or a feed
- Good for small sites where 1,000 sign-ups a month is plenty
Who it is not for
- Skip it if you want to A/B test your popups, as nothing on record says it can
- Pricey if you want lots of POWR apps, as Business is $79.19 a month billed yearly
- Tight if you stay free, as the free popup stops at 25 sign-ups a month
Good to know
Good for
- Small sites that need a popup plus a few other widgets, such as a form or a feed
- Shopify, Wix and Squarespace stores adding features without code
- Trying a popup for free before paying for one app
Worth knowing
- Starter and Pro upgrade only one app type each; covering several apps means several subscriptions or the Business plan.
- For popups, exit intent, delay triggers and Mailchimp or Zapier sync need Pro; the free and Starter versions stop at 25 submissions a month.
- Monthly upgrades are not refunded; annual and two-year upgrades can be refunded within 5 days of purchase.
- Its pages state the yearly saving differently: 10% in the FAQ and 20% on the popup page, with listed prices 20% to 31% below monthly.

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
Keep it
To replace POWR you would be making a builder that other people can use without writing code. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.
It costs $57.96 a year.
What you could make
- Popups, forms and templates: an app builder makes these well.
What you could not
- A builder that other people can use without writing code.
- It plugs into other products, Mailchimp, Zapier and Google Sheets among them.
- Hooks into the device itself: widgets.
What this rests on. POWR’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
