The report card
Best for a shared inbox for small online stores
Re:amaze puts email, chat, social, SMS and voice into one shared inbox, with chatbots, an FAQ and an AI agent, and it fits Shopify and BigCommerce stores well. Small teams get a good deal: Starter is $59 a month flat for everyone, up to 500 answered conversations. Past that it's $26.10 a person, and SMS and voice need Pro.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | B | Starter is $59 a month for any number of people with the Basic features, $11.80 a head for a team of five, inside the cheaper quarter of help desks, as long as you answer under 500 conversations a month. Per seat, Basic is $26.10 billed yearly, which is what one person pays. |
| Free plan and trial | C | A 14-day free trial with all the Plus features and no card needed, so you see the lot. There's no free plan to fall back on when it ends. |
| Features | B | One inbox for email, chat, social, SMS and voice, chatbots, a public FAQ, a status page, an AI agent and store orders beside each message. Across the plans it covers the whole job. |
| Ease of use | C | No store rating on record. You connect your inboxes, social accounts and store, set up the chat box and bots, and decide what the AI agent answers. That's a fair bit before it runs smoothly. |
| Platforms and integrations | B | Web, iPhone and Android, with Shopify, BigCommerce, WordPress, Stripe, Slack, Jira, Aircall and Zapier, and an API. No desktop app, so it stops at a B. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
Keep it
To replace Re:amaze you would be making one mailbox that several people work at once. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.
It costs $313.20 a year.
What you could make
- Help desk and help center: an app builder makes these well.
What you could not
- One mailbox that several people work at once.
- An AI model answering your customers from your own help articles.
- A chat box on your site that reaches you the moment a customer types.
- A real app for iOS and Android. Something home-made would be a web page.
- It is priced for each person, which means accounts and billing for a team.
- It plugs into other products, Shopify, BigCommerce and WordPress among them, and has an API.
- Hooks into the device itself: widgets.
- The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.
What this rests on. Re:amaze’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
