Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.6

GPA, above 35 of the 69 other daily planner apps we grade

TimeFinder is a time-blocking planner built around a split view: task lists on one side, the day's schedule on the other, with tasks dragged into time slots. Blocks can be stretched, shrunk or shifted when plans change, and unfinished tasks roll over into free slots. It imports events from external calendars and runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Android, Windows and the web. The app is free to download, with a Premium subscription or a lifetime purchase.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about TimeFinder, taken from its own pages and our grades.

But the site shows no prices, the store lists seven Premium amounts with no billing period, and nobody says which features are free.

The report card

Best for dragging your to-do list into time slots

TimeFinder is time blocking by hand: task lists on one side, your day on the other, and you drag a task across to give it a slot, with one tap to shift the schedule when you run late. It's on iPhone, Android, Mac, Windows and the web. But the site shows no prices, the store lists seven Premium amounts with no billing period, and nobody says which features are free.

SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyCThere's nothing here to read. The vendor's site publishes no prices, the US App Store lists seven Premium amounts from $4.99 to $79.99 with no billing period on any of them, and Lifetime is $119.99, which is more than a year and a half of a typical planner.
Free plan and trialCFree to download on every platform, with a 7-day trial of Premium, but the store listing only says some features need Premium and never says which. A free plan whose limits nobody will name is a free plan you'll run into.
FeaturesCHand-run time blocking, done fully: a split view where dragging a task makes it a block, intervals from 5 to 60 minutes, Schedule Shift for late days, rollover into free slots, templates and two-way calendar sync. A smaller job than planners that work the day out for you, and the listing won't say what needs Premium.
Ease of useB4.6 from about 1,900 App Store ratings, just under our A line. Everything is drag and drop: pull a task into a slot, stretch it if it'll take longer, drag it back to the list if it won't happen today.
Platforms and integrationsAiPhone, iPad, Mac, Android, Windows and the web. It imports from Apple Calendar, Google and Outlook and sends its schedule back, with two-way Apple Reminders sync and a Watch app on the Apple side only.
Grade point averageGood, out of 4.02.6

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who TimeFinder is for

  • Fits if you plan your day by dragging tasks into time slots
  • Works for people who want one planner on phone, desktop and web, Windows included

Who it is not for

  • Not for you if you want the price before you download, as the site publishes none
  • Skip it if you want an app that plans the day for you, since you drag every block yourself
  • Pricey if you want to pay once, with Lifetime at $119.99
  • Tight if you're staying free, as the listing says some features need Premium but never says which
  • Watch out: Apple Reminders sync and the Watch app are on the Apple side only, not on Android

Good to know

Good for

  • People who plan a day by dragging tasks into time slots
  • Visual planners who rely on color-coded schedules

Worth knowing

  • The vendor's site publishes no prices. The US App Store lists Premium at seven amounts from $4.99 to $79.99 without billing periods.
  • The store listing says some features require TimeFinder Premium but does not say which.
  • Two-way Apple Reminders sync and the Apple Watch app appear only on the App Store listing, not on the Google Play one.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Your call

A daily planner at its plainest is today's tasks laid along a timeline.

You could make the core of TimeFinder for yourself: time blocking, tasks, calendar and templates. What you would give up is listed below. Whether that is worth the price is your call.

What you could make

  • Time blocking, tasks, calendar and templates: an app builder makes these well.

What you could not

  • Apps for macOS, Windows, iOS and Android that stay in step with each other.

What this rests on. TimeFinder’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
