TimeFinder
Drag-and-drop time-blocking planner with color-coded schedules
What is TimeFinder?
TimeFinder is a time-blocking planner built around a split view: task lists on one side, the day's schedule on the other, with tasks dragged into time slots. Blocks can be stretched, shrunk or shifted when plans change, and unfinished tasks roll over into free slots. It imports events from external calendars and runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Android, Windows and the web. The app is free to download, with a Premium subscription or a lifetime purchase.
TimeFinder has a free plan. Paid plans start at $4.99 to $79.99 per item (US App Store in-app purchases; basis not shown). See every plan
Good for
- People who plan a day by dragging tasks into time slots
- Visual planners who rely on color-coded schedules
- Users who want one planner across phone, desktop and web
Worth knowing
- The vendor's site publishes no prices. The US App Store lists Premium at seven amounts from $4.99 to $79.99 without billing periods.
- The store listing says some features require TimeFinder Premium but does not say which.
- Two-way Apple Reminders sync and the Apple Watch app appear only on the App Store listing, not on the Google Play one.
Key features
- Split view with drag and drop
- Task lists and the schedule sit side by side, and a task becomes a time block when it is dragged into a slot. It can be dragged back to a list the same way.
- Flexible time blocks
- The day can be planned in 5, 10, 15, 30 or 60-minute intervals, and blocks are stretched, shrunk and rearranged by dragging.
- Schedule Shift and task rollover
- Schedule Shift moves tasks earlier or later in one tap when the day runs late, and rollover carries unfinished tasks into available time slots.
- Task bucket
- A task can be committed to a date without being tied to a time slot, then placed on the schedule once the day takes shape.
- Calendar and Reminders sync
- Imports events from Apple Calendar, Google and Outlook and exports the TimeFinder schedule back. The Apple apps also sync both ways with Apple Reminders.
- Schedule templates and color palettes
- Routines can be saved as templates and reapplied. Task labels remember their colors, and palettes can be chosen from presets or built in a palette editor.
