Value for money
APremium is $3.49 a month on the US App Store. Yearly is listed at $7.99, $15.99 and $19.99, with nothing to say how they differ, but even the dearest is under $2 a month against about $8 for a typical planner. Lifetime is $39.99 or $49.99.
AFive dollars a month if you pay for the year, eight for teams. Hard to find anything this good on this many devices for that.
Free plan and trial
BFree gets you the timeline planner and tasks, but the limits come quickly: 3 projects, 3 repeating tasks, 3 repeating reminders, 1 reminder per task and sync on 2 devices. Rent, the bins and the gym, and your repeats are used up.
BFree forever, and reminders are included now. But 5 projects is tight. Work, home, one side thing and you're done.
Features
BThe timeline, an Agenda View for dragging tasks into free slots, quick add that reads the date, time, priority and tag from one line, repeating tasks and kanban boards. Good basics. But calendar import is Premium, phone only and read-only, so you can't edit an event here.
BTyping tasks in and repeating dates are brilliant. Filters are great if you like that sort of thing. No start dates though, and the calendar view is paid.
Ease of use
BNo App Store rating on record, so a B is our ceiling. Type "dentist tomorrow 2pm" and it sorts out the date and time for you. One faff: you can only upgrade through the mobile app or an app store, even if it's the web app you want.
A4.8 from around 129,000 App Store ratings. Open it, type a thing, done. Nobody needs a tutorial for this.
Platforms and integrations
BiPhone, iPad, Android and a web app, though the web app needs Premium. No desktop apps. Events come in through your phone's own calendar, which covers Google and Outlook if they're synced to it, and only in the mobile apps.
AMac, Windows, Linux (yes, really), iPhone, Android, web, watch and browser. There's an API too if you like wiring things together.

Key features

Taskito

Timeline and Agenda View
The day is shown as a timeline of tasks, reminders, notes and events. Agenda View adds a clock-time layout where tasks are dragged into open slots, then moved or resized.
Smart Parsing
Quick Add reads the date, time, priority and tag from one typed line, such as a dentist visit tomorrow at 2pm marked p2 with a Home tag.
Recurring tasks and reminders
Tasks repeat daily, weekly, monthly or on a custom rule, and reminders can be snoozed. The free plan allows 3 repeating tasks and 1 reminder per task.
Calendar import
A Premium feature of the mobile apps that reads events from the phone's system calendar, including Google and Outlook calendars synced to it. Events are not editable in Taskito.
Projects and kanban boards
Related tasks are grouped into color-coded projects that can be worked as kanban-style boards. The free plan allows up to 3 projects.
Taskito Web
A browser workspace with the same synced tasks, projects and reminders and its own Quick Add. It needs Premium and a signed-in Taskito account.

Todoist

Quick Add
Capture tasks in natural language as they come to you, including recurring due dates and reminders.
List, board and calendar layouts
Switch any project between a list, a kanban board and a calendar. The calendar layout needs a paid plan.
Filters, labels and priorities
Saved filter views pull tasks from across projects: 3 on the free plan, 150 on Pro and Business.
Shared projects
Share a project to assign tasks and comment on them. Personal projects allow up to 5 people on every plan.
Team workspace
Business adds public and private team projects, folders, roles and permissions, and shared templates.
Ramble and Task Assist
Ramble turns spoken thoughts into tasks; free accounts get limited sessions. Task Assist is included from Pro.
