TicketLeap report card

2.8GPA

Good · out of 4.0 · graded Oct 18, 2026

Best for small events where buyers cover the fees

TicketLeap is no-nonsense ticketing for festivals, haunted attractions, schools and churches, with every feature included and fees that buyers pay by default. Timed entry, seating charts, a box office app and even a weather guarantee are in. You only get your money after the event, though, and it sells only in US, Canadian and Australian dollars.

Who TicketLeap is for

  • Great if you want buyers to cover every ticketing cost
  • Good for haunts, farms, festivals and schools with timed entry or seats
  • Handy when rain could spoil an outdoor event, with a weather guarantee for buyers

Who TicketLeap is not for

  • Not for you if you need ticket money before the event
  • Skip it if you sell outside the US, Canada and Australia
  • Too light for anyone who wants an API to pull orders into other systems

Why TicketLeap gets a 2.8

Five grades, each with its reason. The GPA is their average: an A is 4 points, an F is none.

  • BValue for moneyBuyers pay by default, so you keep the full ticket price. The fee is $1 + 2% a ticket plus a 3% online transaction fee: $400 on 200 $20 tickets. No separate card fee is listed, so that's the whole bill, where most rivals add card processing on top. Absorb it and it's yours.
  • AFree plan and trialEvery feature, no subscription and no contract, and free events cost nothing even if you never sell a paid ticket.
  • CFeaturesTimed entry, seating charts, pay-what-you-want tickets, waivers, a scanner and box office app, ticket exchanges and a weather guarantee. The gap is getting paid: money arrives 4 to 7 business days after the event, never before it.
  • CEase of useNo App Store rating on record. There's no payment processor to connect, as money runs through TicketLeap's own Stripe setup, but you still build event pages, ticket types and seating charts.
  • BPlatforms and integrationsWeb, iPhone and Android, with Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, Apple Pay and Google Pay. No API on record and no desktop app, and tickets sell only in US, Canadian and Australian dollars.

Keep TicketLeap, or make your own?

Keep it

TicketLeap is free, so making your own would save you nothing.

And it is not the kind of software a weekend replaces.

What you could make

  • Reports and qR codes: an app builder makes these well.

What you could not

  • Newsletters sent to thousands of people that still reach the inbox.
  • Selling tickets and checking them at the door.
  • A real app for iOS and Android. Something home-made would be a web page.
  • It plugs into other products, Stripe, Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager among them.

What this rests on. TicketLeap’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
