Ticket Tailor
Event ticketing for a flat fee per ticket, with prepaid credits

Our verdict
First of our top three event ticketing platforms
For: Most people selling tickets to small and mid-sized events
Ticket Tailor sells tickets to one-off, recurring and seated events with no subscription and no cut of the price. You pay a flat $0.85 a paid ticket plus VAT, or from $0.30 with prepaid credits, and can pass it to buyers as a booking fee: $170 on 200 tickets at $20. Free events cost nothing up to 5,000 tickets a year, money lands in your own Stripe, PayPal or Square account as you sell, and the iPhone and Android check-in app works offline and takes Tap to Pay at the door. Know the limits: that account's card fees come out of your sales on top (2.9% + $0.30 with Stripe in the US), each reserved seat uses an extra credit, and removing its branding costs $49 a month.

Best for a flat fee per ticket instead of a percentage
Ticket Tailor charges a flat fee per ticket rather than a cut of the price, so a dear ticket costs you no more than a cheap one. There's no subscription, free events are free up to 5,000 tickets a year, and the money goes straight to your own Stripe, PayPal or Square account. You do need one of those accounts, and removing the branding costs $49 a month.
Who Ticket Tailor is for
- Great if you sell pricier tickets and want a flat fee rather than a percentage
- Handy when you run a venue or attraction with timed or recurring entry
- Good for registered charities, which get half off the fees
Who Ticket Tailor is not for
- Skip it if you don't want to open a Stripe, PayPal or Square account
- Pricey if you want your own branding, as white label costs $49 a month
- Tight if you sell lots of seated tickets, as each reserved seat uses an extra credit
Why Ticket Tailor gets a 3.0
Five grades, each with its reason. The GPA is their average: an A is 4 points, an F is none.
- BValue for money$0.85 a ticket as you sell, so 200 tickets at $20 is $170 a month plus VAT, and prepaid credits from $0.30 a ticket bring that down. You pay it unless you pass it on as a booking fee. Card processing through your own Stripe, PayPal or Square isn't counted. Among the cheaper ones here.
- AFree plan and trialNo subscription and nothing to pay until you sell a paid ticket, and your first five are free. Free events cost nothing up to 5,000 tickets a year, a cap few people will reach, though seated free tickets still use a credit each.
- BFeaturesEvent pages, embedded checkout, reserved seating, timed and recurring slots, memberships, gift vouchers, waitlists and a check-in app that works offline and takes Tap to Pay. It covers selling, the door and getting paid, since the money lands in your own account.
- CEase of useNo App Store rating on record. You connect your own Stripe, PayPal or Square account before you can take money, then build your event pages, so there's a bit to set up first.
- BPlatforms and integrationsWeb, iPhone and Android, with Mailchimp, HubSpot, Zapier, WordPress, a public API and an MCP connector for AI assistants. No desktop app, which an A needs.

Keep it
Ticket Tailor is free, so making your own would save you nothing.
And it is not the kind of software a weekend replaces.
What you could make
- Reports: an app builder makes this well.
What you could not
- Newsletters sent to thousands of people that still reach the inbox.
- Selling tickets and checking them at the door.
- A real app for iOS and Android. Something home-made would be a web page.
- It plugs into other products, Stripe, PayPal and Square among them, and has an API.
- The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.
What this rests on. Ticket Tailor’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
