How we grade them
| 4.0GPAConfluenceExcellent | 3.0GPADocument360Very good | |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | AStandard is $6.70 a user a month for the first 100 users, about half what paid plans in this category usually start at, and it comes with 250 GB, page permissions and guests. Mind the pricing page: the $5.42 it shows first is an average for a 300-user team. | BNo prices are published, so we can't tell you if it's cheap or dear. Every plan is a custom quote based on team accounts, workspaces, languages, security needs and AI use. The AI chatbot and AI Premium Suite are add-ons on top. |
| Free plan and trial | AFree for up to 10 users, with pages, spaces, databases, templates and 2 GB of file storage. A small team could stay here for good. You don't get space or page permission settings, though, so you can't lock a page down. | CNo free plan. There's a free trial, but you start it by booking a live demo, and the site doesn't say how long it lasts. Nothing on record says whether it needs a card either. |
| Features | APages in spaces with a page tree, live editing by several people, comments and version history. Then whiteboards linked to Jira, databases you can lay out as tables, cards or boards, rule-based automation, and Rovo AI search and chat on paid plans. That's the whole wiki job. | AMarkdown and WYSIWYG editors with revision history, public and private knowledge bases side by side, a workflow builder for reviews, analytics on searches and reader feedback, and an AI that drafts articles and cites its sources in search. |
| Ease of use | A4.6 from about 3,700 App Store ratings. It's cloud software you sign up for, and Standard and Premium have a 7-day trial that asks for no payment information. Templates mean you rarely start a page from nothing. | BIt's hosted, so there's no server to run, and writers pick between a Markdown and a WYSIWYG editor. But there's no app rating on record, and you can't just sign up and poke around: it starts with a demo. |
| Platforms and integrations | AWeb, iPhone and Android, with Jira, Jira Service Management, Trello, Loom, Microsoft Teams, Google Drive, GitHub and Figma connected. There's no desktop app on record, so at a computer it's the browser. | BA web app with a Chrome extension, an API with more than 180 endpoints, and integrations with Zendesk, Freshdesk, Intercom, Slack, Microsoft Teams and GitHub. No desktop or mobile apps are listed. |
| Best for | team wikis that sit next to Jira | customer help centres with review workflows |
