How we grade them

2.8GPABriliGood3.2GPARoutineryVery good
Value for money
B$7.99 a month, $34.99 for six months or $49.99 for the year, which works out at about $4.17 a month. That's the going rate for a habit app. The App Store list also shows lower amounts, such as $3.99 monthly and $24.99 yearly, without explaining who gets them.
BPremium is $5.00 to $5.49 a month or $36.00 to $39.49 a year on the US App Store, which is about typical for a habit tracker. It lifts the routine cap and removes the ads. Lifetime is $71.99 through the web checkout, about two years of the yearly price.
Free plan and trial
CNo free plan. You get a 10-day free trial of the fully featured app, and after that a 1, 6 or 12 month subscription is needed. It's not on record whether the trial asks for a card.
B2 routines with no account, and they get the timers, voice guidance, reminders and even the connection to AI assistants. Two is tight, though, and the free plan shows ads. There's a 7-day trial of Premium, and nothing is charged if you cancel before it ends.
Features
BIt does one job and does it fully: it walks you through a routine task by task, with a timer on each card and a visual clock for what's left. Add scheduled or on-demand routines, a day and week calendar, specialist-written templates, achievements and rewards. It's a routine runner more than a habit log.
AStep timers with a voice announcing what's next, schedules, widgets, one-off tasks with their own timers, an Anytime list for things you can't face yet, streaks, weekly and monthly statistics and a mood record. You can share a routine with family and see how far each person got.
Ease of use
A4.6 from about 600 App Store ratings, which just makes an A on our ladder. One task card at a time means there's nothing to decide mid-routine, and templates like the 12-task Good Morning Routine get you going.
BNo rating on record, so a B is our ceiling. It needs no account, and once a routine is running the voice does the leading. Timers can be stretched and steps skipped or reordered mid-run, so a bad morning doesn't break it.
Platforms and integrations
CiPhone, iPad and Android only. No web or desktop app is listed, and it doesn't connect to anything else. The For Families page on the website was marked under construction when checked.
BiPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Android, and ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor and Gemini CLI can edit routines through its MCP server. But the Mac version is the iPad app and needs an Apple M1 chip or later. There's no web version, and no direct sync with Apple Health or calendars.

Who each one suits

Brili

  • People who misjudge how long a morning or evening routine takes
  • Starting from ready-made routine templates

Routinery

  • People who know what to do but find it hard to start or lose track of time
  • Fixed-order routines such as mornings, bedtimes, study blocks and workouts

Worth knowing

Brili

  • There is no free plan: after the 10-day trial a 1, 6 or 12 month subscription is needed.
  • The website names the plans without prices and says prices vary by country; the US figures come from the App Store and Google Play listings.
  • The US App Store in-app purchase list also shows lower amounts for each period, such as $3.99 monthly and $24.99 yearly, which the listing does not explain.
  • Apps are listed for iPhone, iPad and Android only, and the For Families page on the website was marked under construction when checked.

Routinery

  • The free plan stops at 2 routines and shows ads. When a subscription lapses, all but the free routines are deactivated.
  • There is no web version, no direct sync with Apple Health or calendars, and no export button; data is pulled out through the MCP connection.
  • The Mac version is the iPad app: the App Store marks it as designed for iPad and not verified for macOS, and it needs an Apple M1 chip or later.
  • The US App Store shows two prices each for monthly and yearly Premium, so the amount charged in the app may differ from either.

Key features

Brili

Routine runner
A routine plays like a playlist: the app shows one task card at a time with its timer and moves through the tasks in order.
Visual clock and dynamic timing
A visual clock calculates the time left to finish all remaining tasks. The vendor describes routines as dynamic, adapting as the day goes on.
Scheduled and on-demand routines
Routines can be scheduled, with notifications when one is due, or started whenever needed. A calendar shows the day and the week.
Routine templates
Templates written by the vendor's ADHD and routine specialists, such as a 12-task Good Morning Routine, can be added to the app's library from the website.
Achievements and rewards
The feature list includes achievements, customizable rewards that the vendor says keep you motivated over time, and a routine history.
Focus of the Month
Added in 2025 according to the release notes, this prompts you to choose a change to work on and build its steps into a new or existing routine.

Routinery

Step-by-step routine timer
Each step of a routine runs on its own timer and a voice reads out the next one, so the routine carries on while the phone is out of sight. Timers can be stretched and steps skipped or reordered mid-run.
Scheduled routines and quick starts
Set the weekdays and time for a routine and a reminder arrives then. Routines can also be started from home and lock screen widgets, a start link, or Siri Shortcuts on iOS.
Tasks, Anytime list and timeline
One-off tasks get a timer too, tasks you cannot face yet can be parked in Anytime, and the day can be viewed as a list, a calendar or a timeline.
Streaks, statistics and mood
A plant grows for each day a streak is kept, and finishing one routine or task is enough to continue it. Weekly and monthly statistics and a daily mood record show patterns over time.
Shared routines
Share a routine's task list with family or a friend, see how far each person got, and have the result of a finished routine sent to someone you pick.
MCP connection to AI assistants
An MCP server lets ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor and Gemini CLI view, create and edit routines, with each change confirmed by you first. It is available without a paid plan.
