Best for getting pages found in Baidu search

Baidu's Search Resource Platform lets you push new links to Baidu, see index volume and keyword data, check how its spider fetches a page and clean up dead links and domain moves. But everything is in Chinese, fast crawling and sitelinks are only for sites Baidu picks, verification is by file or tag only, and none of its pages says outright that it's free.

Who Baidu Search Resource Platform is for

  • Fits if you want search traffic from mainland China
  • Works for getting new pages crawled sooner by Baidu and dead links dropped

Who Baidu Search Resource Platform is not for

  • Skip it if you don't read Chinese, as no English version of the platform or its help pages was found
  • Watch out: fast crawling isn't open to every site, and sitelinks are a trial for sites Baidu rates highly
  • Not for you if you planned to verify through Baidu Tongji, as only a file or HTML tag works now
  • Watch out: Baidu's pages show no prices, but none of them says outright that the platform is free

Why Baidu Search Resource Platform gets a 3.0

Five grades, each with its reason. The GPA is their average: an A is 4 points, an F is none.

  • AValue for moneyNo price anywhere on Baidu's pages and nothing to buy: add and verify a site with a Baidu account and the tools open. None of the pages actually says it's free, though.
  • AFree plan and trialEvery webmaster tool is open once a site is verified, with no paid tier on record. Fast crawling and sitelinks are granted only to sites Baidu deems eligible.
  • CFeaturesURL submission, index volume, keywords, crawl diagnostics, robots.txt, dead links, mobile matching and site migration tools. The gaps: it's Baidu's view only, and fast crawling isn't open to every site.
  • CEase of useNo rating on record. The platform and its help pages are in Chinese, and you verify the site by file or HTML tag with a Baidu account before anything shows.
  • BPlatforms and integrationsWeb only. Baidu says it offers API access, and new links can be pushed to it in real time; no other integrations are on record.

Keep Baidu Search Resource Platform, or make your own?

Keep it

And it is not the kind of software a weekend replaces. It is one of the better ones too: its GPA of 3.0 is higher than 73 of the 83 other technical SEO tools we grade.

What you could not

  • A crawler that checks every page of a site.
  • An API that other software can build on.

We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
