Best for keeping one location's listings in sync

Moz Local sends your business details to more than 90 directories, keeps them synced and maps your map pack rankings on a grid, from $16 a location a month on yearly billing. There's no free plan or trial, each location is its own subscription, and listings only work for businesses in the US, UK and Canada.

Who Moz Local is for

  • Fits if you run one location in the US, UK or Canada and want your listings kept in sync
  • Works for agencies handling listings for a handful of client locations

Who Moz Local is not for

  • Skip it if your business is outside the US, UK and Canada, as listings aren't supported there
  • Not for you if you want to try it first, since there's no free plan or trial for Moz Local
  • Tight if you're on Lite, which can't reply to reviews; replies, requests and posting start at Preferred ($24)
  • Pricey if you have many locations, as each is a separate subscription and 50 or more go through sales
  • Watch out: the AI add-ons cost extra, $14 a month for Listings AI (in Elite) and $10 for Reviews AI

Why Moz Local gets a 2.0

Five grades, each with its reason. The GPA is their average: an A is 4 points, an F is none.

  • BValue for moneyLite is $16 a location a month on yearly billing ($199 a year), $20 monthly, right at this category's cheaper quarter ($16). It's per location, though, so three shops are three subscriptions, and review replies need Preferred at $24.
  • FFree plan and trialNothing free. Moz Local has no free plan, and the pricing page shows no trial for it; the trial Moz advertises is for Moz Pro.
  • CFeaturesListings on 90+ directories, a Local Grid of map pack rankings, review monitoring and data health reports. The gaps are in the listing: rankings come only from the grid, listings work in just three countries, and Lite can't reply to reviews.
  • CEase of useNo rating on record. You enter each location's details and connect Google and Facebook before listings and reviews start flowing in.
  • BPlatforms and integrationsWeb only, with no desktop or phone app. It connects to Google Business Profile, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok for listings, reviews and posting.

Keep Moz Local, or make your own?

Keep it

To replace Moz Local you would be making listings sent to dozens of directories and map apps, which takes an agreement with each. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 34 of the 61 other local SEO tools grade higher. It costs $192 a year.

What you could make

  • Review collection and reports: an app builder makes these well.

What you could not

  • Listings sent to dozens of directories and map apps, which takes an agreement with each.
  • Daily checks of where your pages rank in search results.
  • It plugs into other products, Google Business Profile, Facebook and Instagram among them.
  • AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.

What this rests on. Moz Local’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
