SEOquake review (2026): is it any good?
Free Semrush extension for page audits and metrics in Google results
Our verdict
First of our top three SEO browser extensions
For: Most people checking pages and Google results
SEOquake is free from Semrush. Quick View shows a page's title, meta description, headings, canonical and indexability, then audits content, mobile and technical issues; the SERP Overlay puts position numbers and Semrush traffic and backlink figures under each Google result, with CSV export, and it lists the pages an AI Overview cites. Know the limits: the figures are Semrush estimates, not your own analytics, Authority Score, referring domains and Traffic Analytics need a Semrush account, though a free one is enough, and the Firefox version is 3.9.9 from December 2022, against 4.3.0 on Chrome.

Best for Semrush figures on Google results and pages
SEOquake audits the page you're on and lays Semrush traffic and backlink figures under each Google result, including the pages an AI Overview cites, for free. Those figures are Semrush estimates rather than your own analytics, the deeper ones need a free Semrush sign-in, and the Firefox version hasn't been updated since December 2022.
Who SEOquake is for
- Fits if you check a rival's traffic and backlink figures while you browse
- Works for reading Semrush figures for every result on a Google search page
Who SEOquake is not for
- Watch out: the traffic and backlink figures are Semrush estimates, not data from your own analytics
- Skip it if you use Firefox, where the version is 3.9.9 from December 2022 against 4.3.0 on Chrome
- Tight if you won't make a Semrush account, as Authority Score, referring domains and Traffic Analytics need one
- Not for you if you want the interface in a language other than English
Why SEOquake gets a 3.2
Five grades, each with its reason. The GPA is their average: an A is 4 points, an F is none.
- AValue for moneyFree from Semrush, with no paid tier for the extension. Core reports and the built-in Semrush figures work with no account at all.
- AFree plan and trialFree outright. Authority Score, referring domains and Traffic Analytics need a Semrush account, but a free one is enough.
- BFeaturesTitle, meta, headings, canonical and indexability with an audit, Semrush figures under every Google result in any country, AI Overview sources, links with follow status and HTTP codes, keyword density and domain comparison. That covers the whole job here.
- BEase of useNo rating on record, but nothing to set up: Quick View works on the first page you open, with no account.
- CPlatforms and integrationsChrome and Firefox, so computers only, and the Firefox version lags far behind. It works on Google Search and draws on Semrush, and nothing else is listed.

Keep SEOquake, or make your own?
Keep it
SEOquake is free, so making your own would save you nothing.
And it is not the kind of software a weekend replaces. It is one of the better ones too: its GPA of 3.2 is higher than 34 of the 34 other SEO browser extensions we grade.
What you could not
- An index of the links between billions of web pages.
- A crawler that checks every page of a site.
- The same prompts asked of ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google's AI answers every day, and the answers kept.
- The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.
What this rests on. SEOquake’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
