Best for updating all your Windows software from one window

Tired of typing winget commands to keep your PC up to date? UniGetUI, which used to be called WingetUI, is a free, open-source window onto WinGet, Scoop, Chocolatey, npm, pip and more, where you click to install, update and remove things. Just know it's only the front end: the packages come from those other managers, so it's on you to check who published what.

Who UniGetUI is for

  • Great if you want WinGet, Scoop and Chocolatey on Windows without typing commands
  • Handy when you're setting up a new PC, since you can export your package list and import it there
  • Good for people who want every installed app kept up to date from one list

Who UniGetUI is not for

  • Skip it if you want someone to vet the software for you, as the packages come from third-party managers
  • Not for you if you're mainly on a Mac or Linux, because it's built for Windows first and those builds load different managers
  • Not for you if your antivirus is strict and you can't make exceptions, since some may flag the installer

Why UniGetUI gets a 3.6

Five grades, each with its reason. The GPA is their average: an A is 4 points, an F is none.

  • AValue for moneyFree and open source under the MIT license, for individuals and organizations alike. No paid plan is listed anywhere.
  • AFree plan and trialThe whole app is free, from the Microsoft Store, a direct installer, a portable zip, or through WinGet, Scoop or Chocolatey. Nothing is kept back.
  • AFeaturesIt finds, installs, updates and removes software across WinGet, Scoop, Chocolatey, PowerShell, npm, Bun, pip, Cargo, .NET Tool and vcpkg. Add batch installs, automatic and scheduled updates, and exported package lists for setting up a new machine. One job, done fully.
  • BEase of useNo store rating on record, so a B is as high as we go. The whole point is that you click and skip the command line. One bump: the vendor says some antivirus software may flag the installer, because it bundles several package managers.
  • BPlatforms and integrationsWindows 10 and 11 first, with macOS and Linux builds on GitHub Releases, so three unrelated systems. Those two load a different set of package managers, mind. There's a command line and a local automation API for scripts, and no phone app.

What is UniGetUI?

UniGetUI, formerly WingetUI, is a free, open-source graphical front end for command-line package managers. On Windows 10 and 11 it brings WinGet, Scoop, Chocolatey, npm, pip and others into one window for finding, installing, updating and removing software, and builds for macOS and Linux are also published. It was created by Martí Climent and has been maintained by Devolutions since it acquired the project in March 2026.

Good for

  • Windows users who want WinGet, Scoop and Chocolatey without the command line
  • Keeping every installed package up to date from one list
  • Moving a software setup to a new machine from an exported package list

Worth knowing

  • It is a front end only: packages come from third-party managers, and the vendor advises reviewing sources and publishers before installing.
  • Built for Windows 10 and 11 first. The macOS and Linux builds come from GitHub Releases and load a different set of package managers.
  • The vendor says some antivirus software may flag the installer because it bundles several package managers.
  • The README warns that wingetui.com and unigetui.com are unofficial third-party sites; the official page is on devolutions.net.

Key features

One window for many package managers
Windows builds load WinGet, Scoop, Chocolatey, PowerShell, npm, Bun, pip, Cargo, .NET Tool and vcpkg, so software can be installed, updated and removed without the command line.
Package discovery and details
Search and filter packages across the supported managers and check a package's metadata before installing it, including the publisher, download size and direct download URL.
Bulk operations and per-package options
Select several packages to install, update or uninstall in one batch. Custom install switches, an older version or a forced architecture can be saved for each package.
Automatic updates and scheduling
Updates packages automatically or notifies you from the system tray, with per-package skips, and can schedule update checks, update installs and backups daily or weekly.
Export, backup and restore
Exports package lists with their install parameters for import on another machine, and backs up the installed set to a local file or a secret GitHub Gist.
Command line and automation API
The app can be driven from the command line or from scripts through a local automation API, and a portable mode keeps settings beside the executable.
