Part 02 · Top three

Our top three

The three we'd look at first, and who each one suits

The three Amazon seller tools we'd look at first. First place suits the most people; second and third are the best picks for the people it leaves out. Each has an Insider's Guide of its own.

  1. 1st

    2.6GPA

    sellerboard

    Free trial · from $15/mo

    For: Most small Amazon sellers

sellerboard counts Amazon fees, ad spend, refunds, product costs and other expenses to show net profit by product and order. Every plan adds inventory forecasts, review requests, PPC optimization, listing change alerts and claims for lost FBA stock, and it also connects to Shopify, Walmart and eBay. Standard is $15 a month billed annually at $179 ($19 monthly) for up to 3,000 orders a month, after a 1-month free trial with no card. It runs on the web, iPhone, Android and as a browser extension. Know the limits: there is no product or niche research, no free plan after the trial, and limiting each user's access needs Enterprise at $63 a month.

    2.4GPA

    Helium 10

    Free plan · from $99/mo

For: Sellers still looking for a product to launch

Helium 10 covers product research with Black Box and Xray, keyword research with Cerebro and Magnet, an AI listing builder, rank tracking, profits, inventory, review requests and FBA refund claims, and reaches Walmart and TikTok Shop too. A free account with limited uses of each tool has no end date, and Platinum, for up to $100K a year in sales, is $99 a month billed annually ($129 monthly). It is second because Platinum is mostly research, with 20 tracked ASINs and 40 inventory SKUs, while ad automation and profit and loss reports need Diamond at $279 a month. It runs on the web and a Chrome extension only.

    Keepa

    Free plan

For: Resellers checking a product's price and sales rank history

Keepa charts the price history of Amazon products in 11 Amazon stores, with sales rank, Buy Box, offer count and review history, and alerts you when a price drops or stock returns. The site, Chrome, Firefox and Edge extensions and phone apps are free for charts and alerts, and there is a developer API. Its iPhone and iPad app averages 4.8 from about 1,500 ratings. It is third because it is a data tool only, with no profit, inventory, listing or ad features, and which seller data needs a paid subscription is not on record, so check keepa.com before relying on it.

Part 05 · Keep or make

Keep or make?

Which are worth paying for, and which you could make yourself

0

Simple enough to make yourself, of 17

Some software does something you couldn’t reasonably build yourself. Some is simple enough that an AI app builder could make the core of it in an afternoon. Here’s where Amazon seller tools land, by the same rules for every tool.

  • 17

    Keep it

It does something you could not reasonably make for yourself, or it costs nothing.

  • 0

    Your call

You could make the core of it, and you would give something up.

  • 0

    You could make this

What it does is the kind of thing an AI app builder makes well, and it charges every month.

Worth keeping

  • Keepa

To replace Keepa you would be making data from Amazon's seller tools and years of sales estimates. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

  • Carbon6

To replace Carbon6 you would be making data from Amazon's seller tools and years of sales estimates. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

  • sellerboard

To replace sellerboard you would be making data from Amazon's seller tools and years of sales estimates. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

  • AMZScout

To replace AMZScout you would be making data from Amazon's seller tools and years of sales estimates. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.
