Which one is for you

Pick BrightLocal if

  • Fits if your business is in the US, UK, Canada or Australia and you want rankings and listings in one account
  • Works for agencies sending white-label local ranking reports for many client locations

Look elsewhere if

  • Skip it if your business is outside the US, UK, Canada and Australia, where only citation building works
  • Tight if you're on Track, as listing sync starts at Manage ($40) and review replies at Grow ($49)
  • Watch out: Citation Builder is paid per site, from $3.20 or $2 with bulk credits, on top of any plan
  • Not for you if you want a free plan, since after the 14-day trial you can only look at old data
  • Watch out: above 100 locations prices are on request, and a downgrade takes effect at once with no refund

Pick F! Insights if

  • Fits if you're a local SEO consultant who prospects with free audits of local businesses
  • Works for agencies that want leads and client data kept in their own WordPress database

Look elsewhere if

  • Skip it if you don't run WordPress, as it works only as a plugin with your own API keys
  • Watch out: the pages disagree, with Agency's checkout listing 1 website and a feature page quoting $300 a month
  • Watch out: trials take a card and charge when they end, and annual renewals aren't refunded automatically
  • Not for you if you want to resell it as your own product, as the admin dashboard keeps the F! Insights name
  • Watch out: Google and Anthropic bill every scan on top of the license, about $0.01 to $0.05 each

Value for money
CTrack is $31 a month for one location on yearly billing, $41 monthly. That's right at this category's middle ($31). Listing sync needs Manage at $40, reviews need Grow at $49, and the price climbs with every location you add.
DSolo is $100 a month for one website plus API use, just past where this category's dearest tenth starts ($99), and Agency is $3,000 a year. The free plugin is only free if you host WordPress and pay Google and Anthropic, about $0.01 to $0.05 a scan.
Free plan and trial
CNo free plan, but a 14-day trial with full access and no card. When it ends you can still log in and see your data, but you can't run new reports until you pay.
CThe free plugin scans without limit, with AI-scored reports and competitor benchmarks, but has no lead capture, branding or bulk scanning, and you pay the API costs. Paid trials take a card.
Features
BRank tracking for 100 keywords, a geogrid, audits, citation tracking and AI answer checks on every plan, then listing sync, Google post scheduling and review requests higher up. It covers the whole job, with citation building bought per site.
CA profile scanner for your site, lead capture and a pipeline, a bulk scanner, AI outreach drafts, client tabs for posts and profile edits, and a geogrid. It's built for prospecting, and edits go to Google only, with no other directories on record.
Ease of use
CNo rating on record. You add locations, keywords and competitors and connect Google Business Profile before the reports fill in, and the plans split the tools three ways.
DNo rating on record. It's a self-hosted WordPress plugin: you install it and paste in your own Google Places and Anthropic API keys, which means setting up Google Cloud and Anthropic accounts first.
Platforms and integrations
BWeb only, with no desktop or phone app. It links to Google Business Profile, Google Analytics, Data Axle, Neustar Localeze and Foursquare, and has local SEO APIs and an MCP server for ChatGPT and Claude.
BRuns in the browser through your own WordPress site, with no desktop or phone app. It connects to Google Business Profile, Google Places, Claude and Stripe.

Worth knowing

BrightLocal

  • The platform works in the USA, UK, Canada and Australia; citation building alone reaches more countries.
  • Citation Builder is paid per site, from $3.20 or as low as $2 with bulk credits, on top of any plan.
  • Prices rise with the number of locations, and above 100 locations they are on request.
  • Downgrades take effect at once and the unused part of the old plan is not refunded.

F! Insights

  • Runs only inside WordPress with your own Google Places and Anthropic API keys; the maker puts API costs at about $0.01 to $0.05 a scan, billed by those companies.
  • Pages disagree: the pricing page gives Agency unlimited websites but its checkout lists 1 website, and a feature page quotes $300 a month instead of $100.
  • Trials take a card and charge when they end; refunds cover 14 days from the first charge, and annual renewals are not refunded automatically.
  • White-labeling covers reports, emails and the scanner widget, but the admin dashboard keeps the F! Insights name, so it cannot be resold as your own product.

F! Insights

Business Profile scanner
A shortcode puts a scanner on your site: any visitor can audit a local business and get a report scored in eight categories, with named competitors and PageSpeed results.
Lead capture and pipeline
On paid licenses each scan logs a lead with its scores; a pipeline tracks status, follow-ups and notes, and a bulk scanner scores a CSV of prospects overnight.
AI outreach drafts
Claude writes a cold pitch or reply for each prospect from its scan, citing a named competitor, the review gap or the PageSpeed score.
Client workspace
Per-client tabs for Google posts on a schedule, AI-written service pages published to the client's WordPress, a profile optimizer that pushes edits to Google, and review templates.
Geogrid and Near Me score
Map pack positions across a configurable grid such as 5×5 or 7×7, a five-part Near Me score and a competitor overlay, with snapshots over time.
Stripe client billing
Connect Stripe to sell your own Starter, Professional and Full Management plans to clients at prices you set; the client tiers are marked beta.

How this page was made

  • The verdict at the top follows a fixed rule. When both tools are in the same category and either is in our top three for it, the verdict follows that ranking: the higher-placed tool is our pick. The top three weigh who each tool suits as well as its grades, so a pick can go against the GPA. Otherwise the page does not pick one and says which grades higher: the higher GPA first; on a tie, the one with a free plan, then the one that starts cheaper in dollars a month, counted the same way for both; if they are still level, what the choice depends on.
  • The grades are our own, from each tool’s review or report card. The GPA is their average.
  • Prices, plans and platforms come from each tool’s listing. The table above says where each price was read and when.
  • The differences and the answers to the questions are worked out from those listings.
