MiniMax Agent report card

3.4GPA

Very good · out of 4.0 · graded Oct 9, 2026

Best for one agent across web, desktop, phone and terminal

MiniMax Agent is a do-most-things agent from a company that makes its own AI models. On the web it turns a prompt into research, slide decks, websites and images, and the desktop app works on the files on your computer. One plan covers every app, from $22 a month, but its limits reset every 5 hours and every week, and what you don't use is gone.

Who MiniMax Agent is for

  • Great if you want research, a slide deck or a website back from one prompt
  • Handy when you code and want the same agent on your desktop, in the terminal and on the web
  • Good for people who already use MiniMax models in Claude Code, Codex or Cursor

Who MiniMax Agent is not for

  • Skip it if you want video on the cheapest plan, as that starts on Explore at $55 a month
  • Not for you if you hate meters, since limits reset every 5 hours and every week and nothing carries over
  • Tight if you're staying free, with limited model use and no video or API key

Why MiniMax Agent gets a 3.4

Five grades, each with its reason. The GPA is their average: an A is 4 points, an F is none.

  • BValue for moneyGo is $22 a month, or $220 for the year, which is about what agents in this category start at. It's meant for light use, with 15 scheduled tasks and 50 projects. Video isn't in it: that starts on Explore at $55 a month.
  • BFree plan and trialThere's a free tier with 5 scheduled tasks, 20 projects and 20 website deployments, and daily check-ins earn points. But model use is only described as limited, so nobody can tell you how far it goes. No video and no API key.
  • AFeaturesOn the web it does research, documents, slide decks, spreadsheets, websites and images from a prompt. The desktop app works with your local folders, the terminal and a built-in browser, and can hand a job to the cloud and get it back. Tasks run on a schedule, and you can approve steps from your phone.
  • BEase of useOn the web there's nothing to install: type what you want. The names take a minute, though. The desktop, phone and command-line apps are called MiniMax Code, not MiniMax Agent. There's no rating on record to go by, so a B.
  • APlatforms and integrationsWeb, Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android, plus a command-line app. You can link Telegram, WeChat and Lark as channels, and paid plans come with an API key that works in Claude Code, Codex and Cursor. The desktop app is Mac and Windows only.
