Who each one suits

Agenta

  • Teams that want to self-host their agent platform under an MIT license
  • Paying by usage for a whole team instead of per seat
  • Recurring jobs such as research briefs, code review and reports

Eigent

  • People who want a desktop agent that runs on their own API keys or local models
  • Long tasks that can be split among several agents working in parallel
  • Teams that want to self-host and inspect the code they run

Worth knowing

Agenta

  • AI model costs are not included: you connect your own provider credentials and pay the provider directly.
  • The Hobby plan stops running agents after 5,000 runs in a month and allows 2 team members and 20 evaluations a month.
  • On Agenta Cloud, SSO and role-based access control start at Business ($299 a month); audit logs and custom domains are Enterprise only.
  • Running agents on a Claude or ChatGPT subscription works only on a self-hosted deployment, not on Agenta Cloud.

Eigent

  • Desktop only: the download page says Eigent is not supported on mobile or tablet.
  • The Free plan's credits are a one-time 1,000 registration bonus plus invite bonuses; it has no monthly credit allowance.
  • The Teams plan, with a shared library and centralized billing, is listed as Coming Soon.
  • The docs mark the Telegram, Lark and WhatsApp channels and the X, WhatsApp, Reddit and GitHub connectors as Coming soon.

Key features

Agenta

Agents built by chatting
You describe the job in chat and refine the agent's instructions and skills as you go. Prebuilt templates cover engineering, support, sales, knowledge and operations.
Automations and triggers
An agent can run on a schedule or start when an event happens in a connected tool, such as a new pull request. Every run is logged with its duration and estimated cost.
Integrations, MCP and skills
Agents work across more than 1,000 integrations and any MCP server you add. Skills are reusable instruction files that can be swapped without rewriting the agent.
Harness and model choice
Three harnesses ship with it: Claude Code, Pi and Codex. Models come from your own provider accounts, including OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Mistral, AWS Bedrock and Azure OpenAI.
Permissions, approvals and a secret vault
You decide which actions run automatically, which wait for approval and which are blocked. Credentials sit in a vault the agent can use but cannot read.
Tracing, evaluations and versions
Each run produces a trace of its model and tool calls, tokens and latency. Agent changes are versioned and can be compared, and evaluations include LLM-as-a-judge.

Eigent

Single Agent and Workforce modes
Give a task to one agent, or to a Workforce that splits it among specialized workers running in parallel. You can define your own workers and choose the tools each one gets.
Spaces, Sessions and Tasks
A Space holds related Sessions and working files and can be tied to a local folder. Space profiles package agents, skills and connectors so the same setup is reused.
Browser agents
Agents navigate pages, click, type and capture screenshots in a managed or connected Chrome DevTools Protocol browser, and can use imported cookies for signed-in sessions.
Automations
Scheduled automations run recurring work, Event automations respond to webhooks and external events, and App automations react to events in connected applications.
Connectors and MCP
Guided connectors cover Notion, Slack, Google Calendar, Gmail, LinkedIn and Lark, and you can add a local or remote MCP server for a service that is not in the catalog.
Cloud, own-key or local models
Use managed Eigent Cloud models billed in credits, your own provider API keys, or local models served by Ollama, vLLM, SGLang, LM Studio or LLaMA.cpp.
