Value for money
CIt's hard to say what you'll pay. The US App Store lists monthly prices from $3.99 to $14.99 and yearly ones from $23.99 to $47.90. Meanwhile ScreenZen blocks apps and sites for free.
BPremium is $3.99 a month or $24.99 a year on the US App Store, on the cheap side of typical. But the vendor doesn't publish what Premium unlocks, and a purchase is tied to one platform and one device, so paying on Android gets you nothing on iPhone.
Free plan and trial
BFree with a block list, schedules and usage limits, which covers the basics. Keyword blocking, unlimited categories and the password lock are paid. The trial is 3 days and wants a card.
BFree to download on Android and iPhone. But the vendor doesn't publish which features need Premium, so we can't say where free stops, and the Google Play listing says the Android app contains ads.
Features
BBlock lists, schedules, a focus timer, usage limits, whole categories and keywords, all synced across your devices. Enough for the job. But reviewers say the blocks are too easy to switch off.
AProfiles that block apps, sites and keywords, as a blocklist or a whitelist. Blocks can run on a schedule, after a daily limit, until a goal is met or at a chosen place. Strict Mode locks them until a timer ends, and there's a Pomodoro timer with focus sounds.
Ease of use
C4.2 from about 6,200 App Store ratings, which is low for this category. Adding a site to block is simple. But reviewers describe slow browsing on iPhone, and a 2026 redesign that added extra taps.
B4.4 from about 950 App Store ratings, a notch under the top blockers. On iPhone and iPad, iOS caps blocking at 50 apps or websites at a time.
Platforms and integrations
BiPhone, Android and extensions for Chrome, Edge and Safari, with one purchase covering all of them. There's a desktop app too, though the site doesn't say which computers it runs on. No iPad app.
BAndroid, iPhone, iPad and a Chrome extension that blocks websites and keywords. There's no Mac or Windows app, and no integrations are listed.

Who each one suits

BlockSite

  • Blocking the same sites and apps on a phone and in desktop browsers
  • People who want to block whole categories of sites in one step
  • Students and workers who block on a fixed daily schedule

Stay Focused

  • People who want blocks they cannot switch off on impulse
  • Android users who want to block short videos but keep the app
  • Students running timed study sessions with distracting apps locked

Worth knowing

BlockSite

  • The web checkout showed rupee prices on the check date, so the subscription prices here are from the US App Store, which lists several amounts without saying which one applies.
  • The privacy policy (last modified July 16, 2026) says browsing data is disclosed to affiliates for their market intelligence services; an opt-out is in the settings.
  • Keyword blocking, unlimited category blocking and password protection need Premium, and the iOS app is for iPhone only.
  • The homepage advertises a desktop app that blocks across several browsers but does not say which operating systems it runs on.

Stay Focused

  • Prices and the list of Premium features are not on the vendor's site; the dollar figures come from the US App Store, and Google Play shows $0.49 to $99.99 per item.
  • Purchases are tied to one platform and one device: an Android purchase cannot be used on iOS.
  • On iPhone and iPad, iOS caps blocking at 50 apps or websites at a time, and blocking Reels and Shorts is offered on Android only.
  • There is no Mac or Windows app; on a computer it is limited to a Chrome extension that blocks websites and keywords.

Key features

BlockSite

Block List
Add the sites and apps you want to avoid, and BlockSite keeps them from opening while the list is active. Premium removes the limit on entries.
Focus Mode
Blocks distractions for a set amount of time. The Mac listing describes timed work sessions with scheduled breaks.
Schedule
Set the days and hours when chosen sites and apps are blocked, so the same routine repeats without being switched on each time.
Category and keyword blocking
Block a whole category such as social media or shopping in one step, or any address containing a chosen word. Both are Premium features on iOS.
Password protection
A Premium setting that puts a password in front of settings and blocked pages. The site also lists a feature that prevents uninstalling BlockSite.
Sync across platforms
The same block list applies on every signed-in device, and one purchase unlocks Premium on Android, iOS, Chrome, Edge and Safari.

Stay Focused

App and website blocking with profiles
Pick the apps, sites and keywords to block and group them into profiles for sleep, work or study. Each profile can work as a blocklist or as a whitelist of what stays allowed.
Schedules, daily limits and goals
Block during set days and hours, after a daily usage limit is used up, or until you have spent a set amount of time in apps you class as productive.
Location-based blocking
Block apps automatically while you are at a place you choose, such as a school, office or library, or while you are away from it.
Strict Mode
Locks your blocks until a timer runs out. Turning it off can require a PIN, an expiry date, a QR code scan or typing a randomly generated text.
Pomodoro sessions and Focus Sounds
Timed focus sessions with planned breaks keep all but a few chosen apps blocked. Rain, ocean waves, brown noise and other sounds can be mixed into a background track.
Reels and Shorts blocking
On Android, hide YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and Stories or Snapchat Spotlight while keeping the rest of each app usable.
