Value for money
CSolo is $49 a month, or $40.83 billed annually, for 1 user, 1 development robot and 3 application robots. That's dear for this category. And a production robot for scheduled flows starts on Pro at $129, with extra robots at $19 to $99 a month each.
CHobby is $29 a month for 30,000 credits, which is about 1,200 actions. That's at the dear end for this category. And things a portal job tends to need, like 2FA and TOTP support, residential proxies and team workspaces, start on Pro at $149 a month.
Free plan and trial
CThere's a Free plan, but its robots are included for 14 days only. After that you keep 50 daily credits for trying agents, and you can't buy more. So for the robots, which are the point, it's a trial. The listing doesn't say whether it needs a card.
BThe open-source edition is free to self-host with pip or Docker, though you bring your own LLM provider. Skyvern Cloud's Free plan is 5,000 credits, about 170 actions, with no card, and the pricing page doesn't show it renewing each month.
Features
ARobots work through browsers, Windows and Java apps, with recorders and image or OCR targets for the awkward ones. An AI Assistant builds the workflow from a description, agents can call any flow as a tool, and an app can sit on top as the interface.
AIt does one job, browser automation, and does it fully. Agents read pages with computer vision, get past logins, TOTP prompts and CAPTCHAs, and return data in a schema you define. You can build by describing the task, uploading a procedure, recording yourself or assembling blocks.
Ease of use
BDescribe the workflow in plain language and the assistant builds it on a canvas you can open and edit. There are three kinds of robot to get your head round, though. No rating on record, so a B.
BTell the copilot what you want in plain English, or record yourself doing the task once. Each run comes with a summary of what the agent did and why. There's no rating on record to go by, so a B.
Platforms and integrations
BA web app with robots for Windows, Mac and Linux, or Robomotion's cloud, chosen per workflow. It takes your own keys for OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or OpenRouter. The listing shows no phone app.
BA web app with a REST API, Python and TypeScript SDKs, webhooks, and an MCP server for clients such as Claude and Cursor. It plugs into Zapier, Make and n8n as well. The listing shows no phone or desktop app.

Who each one suits

Robomotion

  • Back-office work in web portals and desktop software that have no API
  • Teams that want deterministic RPA steps and AI agents in the same flow
  • Organizations that need to keep automation on their own machines

Skyvern

  • Operations teams collecting invoices or reports from vendor portals that have no API
  • Developers replacing selector-based Selenium or Playwright scripts
  • Teams that need to self-host browser automation

Worth knowing

Robomotion

  • The Free plan includes robots for 14 days only; after that it leaves 50 daily credits for agents, and more credits cannot be bought.
  • Plans cap robots by type, and a production robot for scheduled flows starts on Pro. Extra robots cost from $19 to $99 a month each.
  • AI model usage is paid to the model provider with your own key, and the site says third-party services may cost extra.
  • Self-hosted plans start at $499 a month, and SSO, SAML and an SLA are listed only under Enterprise.

Skyvern

  • The cloud Free plan is 5,000 credits, about 170 actions, and the pricing page does not show it renewing each month.
  • 2FA and TOTP support, team workspaces, residential proxies and state or city targeting start on Pro at $149 a month.
  • Custom code blocks, human-in-the-loop steps and HIPAA compliance are listed only under Enterprise.
  • The self-hosted edition is AGPL-3.0 and needs your own LLM provider; proxies, anti-bot measures and CAPTCHA solving are described as part of Skyvern Cloud.

Key features

Robomotion

AI Assistant and visual canvas
Describe a workflow in plain language and the assistant builds it and connects the tools; every step stays on a canvas you can open and edit, then put on a schedule.
Browser and desktop robots
A software robot signs in, clicks, reads and types across websites and desktop applications that have no API. Recorders cover browsers, Windows, Java and image or OCR targets.
AI agents that call workflows
Agents run workflows on request, and any flow can be wired into an agent as a tool. Google's Agent Development Kit and the Hermes agent are available as nodes on the canvas.
Apps on top of workflows
An app is a user interface to a set of workflows, with MCP tools for agents. Ready-made apps and agents can be installed from the store and then edited.
Local or cloud execution
Workflows run on Windows, Mac or Linux computers you control, in Robomotion's cloud, or a mix chosen per workflow. Paid cloud plans include unlimited local execution time.
Credential vault and your own AI keys
Credentials are encrypted in a workspace vault and used only when a workflow runs. Keys from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or OpenRouter are added once and billed by the provider.

Skyvern

Vision-based browser agents
Agents combine computer vision with LLM reasoning to read a page, so a workflow keeps working after a site changes its layout. Each run has a summary of the actions taken and why.
Several ways to build a workflow
Describe the task to a copilot in plain English, upload a written procedure, record yourself doing it in a browser, or assemble blocks in a visual editor.
Logins, 2FA and CAPTCHAs
A credential vault stores passwords and 2FA codes without exposing them to the LLM, and connects to 1Password and Bitwarden. Runs can pass TOTP prompts and solve CAPTCHAs.
Structured data extraction
Data pulled from a site is returned in a schema you define, as JSON or CSV, and documents can be downloaded from portals that sit behind a login.
Proxies and geo-targeting
Cloud runs go through datacenter or residential proxies, with targeting by country on the lower plans and by state or city on Pro and Enterprise.
API, SDKs and MCP
Workflows can be triggered through a REST API, Python and TypeScript SDKs or webhooks, and Skyvern can act as a tool for MCP-compatible clients such as Claude and Cursor.
