Siteline review (2026): is the free plan enough?
AI agent traffic analytics with brand visibility tracking in AI chats

Siteline report card
Fair · out of 4.0 · graded Oct 23, 2026
Best for real AI agent traffic plus prompt tracking
Siteline reads your server data to show which AI agents and crawlers fetch your pages, where they get stuck, and how many people follow from AI chats. Paid plans add prompt tracking against competitors from $49 a month. But the pricing table never says which AI platforms the tracking covers, setup happens at your host or CDN, and there's no yearly price or stated trial, so check coverage before you pay.
Who Siteline is for
- Fits if you want measured AI agent traffic from your server, not only simulated prompts
- Works for developer tools that want to see which coding agents read their docs
Who Siteline is not for
- Skip it if you need to know which AI engines are tracked before you pay, as the table doesn't name them
- Not for you if you can't change your hosting or CDN setup, since it collects on the server side
- Tight if you stay free: prompt tracking, MCP and the API all start on Starter at $49 a month
- Watch out: prices are monthly only, with no yearly saving and no stated trial on paid plans
- Tight if you want Slack support, which starts on Scale at $99 a month
Why Siteline gets a 2.2
Five grades, each with its reason. The GPA is their average: an A is 4 points, an F is none.
- CValue for moneyStarter is $49 a month for 500 prompt runs, 2 websites and 500,000 analytics events. That's between the cheaper quarter of this category and its middle. Only monthly prices are shown, with no yearly saving.
- CFree plan and trialA free plan with no card: 1 website and 50,000 agent analytics events a month. That covers the bot traffic side, but prompt tracking, MCP and the API all start on Starter.
- CFeaturesAgent analytics, human visits from AI platforms, prompt tracking, citations, ranked fixes and an insights agent. The gap: the pricing table says all major AI platforms without naming them, and the charts show only ChatGPT, AI Mode, Perplexity and Gemini.
- CEase of useNo rating on record. It collects through your host or CDN rather than a browser script, so there's setup on the server side before you see traffic.
- BPlatforms and integrationsWeb only, with no desktop or phone app. It connects through Vercel, Cloudflare, Netlify, Azure CDN, CloudFront, Next.js, WordPress and Fastly, with MCP and a reporting API from Starter.

Keep Siteline, or make your own?
Keep it
The plain part of Siteline you could make: reports. What surrounds it you could not. The 4 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.
It costs $588 a year.
What you could make
- Reports: an app builder makes this well.
What you could not
- The same prompts asked of ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google's AI answers every day, and the answers kept.
- A tracking script and a database that counts every visit.
- It plugs into other products, Vercel, Cloudflare and Netlify among them, and has an API.
- AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
What this rests on. Siteline’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
What is Siteline?
Siteline reads a website's server data to show which AI agents, chatbots and crawlers fetch its pages, where they fail, and how many human visits follow from AI platforms. Paid plans add prompt tracking that measures how often AI answers mention and cite your brand against competitors, plus recommendations and an insights agent. Plans are priced by websites, analytics events and monthly prompt runs.
Worth knowing
- Prompt tracking, MCP access and the reporting API start on the $49 Starter plan; the free plan covers agent analytics.
- The pricing table lists "all major AI platforms" without naming them; the charts on the page show ChatGPT, AI Mode, Perplexity and Gemini.
- The page shows monthly prices only, with no annual billing option or stated free trial on paid plans.
- Slack support starts on Scale; Starter has email support only.

- Visibility tracking
- Suggests the prompts that matter in your category, then tracks your visibility, ranking and positioning against competitors in AI answers.
- Citation monitoring
- Lists the sites and pages AI chatbots cite when they answer questions about your brand, and whether you are mentioned in them.

- Ranks content and technical fixes by impact and effort, and an insights agent answers follow-up questions in the app or over MCP.
- Server-side integrations
- Connects through Vercel, Cloudflare, Netlify, Azure CDN, AWS CloudFront, Next.js, WordPress or Fastly rather than a browser script.
