Value for money
A$9 a month billed annually buys 5,000 credits, unlimited active scenarios, teams and roles, and API access. That's well under what most automation tools start at. Do note that credits expire at the end of each term.
CAutomations Pro starts at $35 a month billed yearly, and monthly billing costs more. That's well above what this category usually starts at. Workflows, with forms, approvals and dashboards, is a separate product from $88 a month, though it does include Automations.
Free plan and trial
BFree with no time limit, but tight: 1,000 credits a month, 2 active scenarios and at least 15 minutes between scheduled runs. Good for learning the canvas and running a job or two.
BAutomations Free gives you up to 10 automations with 10 sources each, through the Google Sheets add-on, with no card. Excel and CSV files stop at 1 MB and a run at 5 minutes. Workflows has no free plan, only a 14-day trial.
Features
AA visual canvas with routers and filters, more than 3,000 pre-built apps, AI agents, the Maia assistant that builds from a conversation, an MCP server, and Make Grid for mapping a team's whole setup. That's the job covered, and then some.
AIt does one job, spreadsheet automation, and does it fully. Data moves between Google Sheets, Excel and CSV files, with merge, split and filter on the way, on a schedule or when a form, webhook or file change sets it off. It can turn rows into Google Docs, PDFs and emails too.
Ease of use
BYou place modules on a canvas and link them, so the branching is visible at a glance, and Maia will build a scenario from a chat. You still have to think in modules and credits. No rating on record, so a B.
BIt opens as a sidebar inside a Google Sheets file or an Excel workbook, so you set things up without leaving the spreadsheet or writing a script. Picking between its two products takes a minute. No rating on record, so a B.
Platforms and integrations
AIt runs on the web with iPhone and Android apps, lists more than 3,000 app integrations, and the paid plan opens up more than 300 Make API endpoints. The MCP server lets outside AI assistants trigger your scenarios too.
BA web app plus add-ons for Google Sheets and Excel, working on files in Google Drive, OneDrive, SharePoint or Dropbox. A webhook can trigger a run. The Excel add-in needs files stored online, and the listing shows no phone app.

Key features

Make

Visual scenario builder
Scenarios are built by placing app modules on a canvas and linking them with routers and filters, so branching logic is visible at a glance.
3,000+ pre-built apps
Make lists more than 3,000 app integrations, among them OpenAI, HubSpot, Salesforce and Slack. Access to enterprise apps comes with the paid plan.
Credit-based billing
Most module actions use 1 credit. The paid plan starts at 5,000 credits a month, and extra credits are sold in bundles of 1,000 or 10,000 at 25% more than plan credits.
AI agents, Maia and MCP
AI agents can be built to orchestrate workflows, Maia builds automations from a conversation, and the Make MCP server lets outside AI assistants trigger scenarios.
Make Grid
Make Grid gives a map of an organization's scenarios and how they connect, to keep a large automation setup under control.
Teams, variables and API
The paid plan adds teams and team roles, custom variables, full-text search of execution logs and access to more than 300 Make API endpoints.

Sheetgo

Spreadsheet-to-spreadsheet automations
An automation sends data from a source file to a destination file. It works with Google Sheets, Excel, CSV and TSV files kept in Google Drive, OneDrive, SharePoint or Dropbox.
Merge, split and filter
Data processors merge several files into one, split one file out to many, and filter which rows are transferred. The pricing page also lists an AI Processor among them.
Schedules and triggers
Automations run on a schedule or when a form is submitted, a webhook fires or a file or folder changes. Each run uses automation credits from the plan's monthly allowance.
Documents, PDFs and emails
Workflows can generate Google Docs and PDFs and send personalized emails from spreadsheet data, as well as moving the data itself.
Workflows with forms and dashboards
The Workflows product, used in the web app, adds forms, approvals, dashboards, a workflow view and team management for processes several people share.
Add-ons for Google Sheets and Excel
Sheetgo opens as a sidebar inside a Google Sheets file or an Excel workbook, where automations can be created, scheduled and managed without leaving the spreadsheet.
