Which one is for you

Pick Raven Tools if

  • Fits if you send clients branded monthly SEO and marketing reports
  • Works for small agencies that want audits, rankings and backlinks in one account

Look elsewhere if

  • Not for you if you might want your money back, as there are no refunds and annual plans can't be downgraded
  • Tight if you track daily on Small Biz, since 1,500 checks is 50 keywords a day
  • Pricey if you want reports on your own domain, which starts at Grow for $139
  • Watch out: your data is deleted 30 days after you cancel
  • Watch out: payment is by credit card only, and yearly plans are paid for the full year upfront

Pick WebCEO if

  • Fits if you resell SEO under your own brand and domain
  • Works for agencies that want an audit widget on their site to collect leads

Look elsewhere if

  • Skip it if you need daily rankings or the top 100, which only Agency Unlimited gets
  • Tight if you're on Solo, with a 3-month minimum, 1 user and no branded reports
  • Not for you if you want a fixed bill on Agency Unlimited, which charges per project, user and 1,000 rank queries
  • Watch out: a keyword tracked in several places, devices or engines counts once for each
  • Watch out: white label on Agency Unlimited is $40 extra, and there's no free plan, only the 14-day trial

Worth knowing

Raven Tools

  • Rank tracking is metered in checks: one keyword on one device and engine, once. Daily tracking uses a check per keyword each day; extra checks cost $0.003 each.
  • There are no refunds: partial months are not refunded, annual plans cannot be refunded or downgraded, and data is deleted 30 days after cancelling.
  • Small Biz and Start brand reports only on a Raven subdomain and email; a custom domain needs Grow or above.
  • Payment is by credit card only, and annual plans are prepaid for the full year.

WebCEO

  • There is no free plan, only the 14-day trial. Solo has a 3-month minimum, one user and no branded reports.
  • Agency Unlimited's bill varies with use: $2 per project, $5 per extra user, $4 per 1,000 rank queries, $0.80 per 1,000 backlinks found and $40 for white label.
  • Startup, Corporate and Solo track only the top 50 results with weekly automated scans; daily scans and top-100 results need Agency Unlimited.
  • A keyword tracked in several locations, devices or search engines counts once for each against the plan's keyword limit.

How this page was made

  • The verdict at the top follows a fixed rule. When both tools are in the same category and either is in our top three for it, the verdict follows that ranking: the higher-placed tool is our pick. The top three weigh who each tool suits as well as its grades, so a pick can go against the GPA. Otherwise the page does not pick one and says which grades higher: the higher GPA first; on a tie, the one with a free plan, then the one that starts cheaper in dollars a month, counted the same way for both; if they are still level, what the choice depends on.
  • The grades are our own, from each tool’s review or report card. The GPA is their average.
  • Prices, plans and platforms come from each tool’s listing. The table above says where each price was read and when.
  • The differences and the answers to the questions are worked out from those listings.
