Best for cheap scheduling to lots of networks

Publer posts to 13 networks and WordPress, Telegram and Mastodon included, and you pay for the accounts and team members you add. Five accounts on Business, the plan with analytics, are $40 a month billed yearly before extra members. There's no social inbox in its listing, so replies happen somewhere else.

Who Publer is for

  • Great if you post to less common places like Telegram, Mastodon or WordPress
  • Good for agencies that want unlimited workspaces and pay per account
  • Handy when you only need one or two accounts for a few dollars a month

Who Publer is not for

  • Not for you if you answer lots of comments and DMs, as no inbox is listed
  • Tight if you're free and on X, since the free plan leaves X out
  • Pricey if your team keeps growing, because every member adds to the bill

Why Publer gets a 2.6

Five grades, each with its reason. The GPA is their average: an A is 4 points, an F is none.

  • CValue for moneyBusiness, the plan with analytics and approvals, is $8 an account a month billed yearly, so five accounts are $40, and each extra team member adds to that. That's above this category's $29 middle and under the $58 dearer quarter. Professional is $20 for five.
  • CFree plan and trialFree for good with 3 accounts and 10 queued posts each, but no X, 25 drafts and only 24 hours of published-post history, and analytics are a Business thing. Fine for a try, tight for a business.
  • CFeaturesCalendar, bulk uploads of up to 500 posts, RSS, recycling, AI, competitor tracking and approvals on Business. The gaps it shows: no social inbox in its listing, a daily posting cap only Enterprise lifts, and an API only for eligible customers.
  • AEase of useIts iPhone and iPad app averages 4.75 from about 26,600 ratings, and connecting accounts and scheduling a first post is quick.
  • BPlatforms and integrationsWeb, iPhone, Android and a browser extension, with Canva, Google Drive, Unsplash, WordPress and Linkie. No desktop app, which an A needs.

Keep Publer, or make your own?

Your call

You could make the core of Publer for yourself: calendar and reports.

What you would give up is listed below. Whether that is worth the price is your call. It costs $48 a year.

What you could make

  • Calendar and reports: an app builder makes these well.

What you could not

  • A real app for iOS and Android. Something home-made would be a web page.
  • It plugs into other products, Canva, Unsplash and Google Drive among them.
  • AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.

What this rests on. Publer’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
