Key features
Brosix
- Private team network
- Only users an administrator adds can join, so outsiders never appear in a contact list. Admins create and remove users and set who can see whom from a web control panel.
- Chat and chat rooms
- One-to-one and group chats with replies, mentions, read receipts and edit or delete, plus chat rooms for teams, projects or departments and a searchable history.
- Voice and video calls
- Audio and video calls between team members are included in every plan, and the Essentials plan cards describe them as unlimited.
- Screen sharing and remote desktop
- Share a screen or take remote control of a colleague's desktop to sort out a problem, and capture and send screenshots from inside the app.
- File transfer
- Send files of any size to a person or a group. The Windows Classic app also offers direct peer-to-peer transfer, a whiteboard and broadcast messages.
- Encryption and compliance controls
- Chat, calls and files are encrypted with AES-256, with end-to-end encryption on direct peer-to-peer connections. Ultimate adds 2FA, IP address permissions and chat history expiration.
Ryver
- Forums, teams and direct messages
- Chat takes place in open forums, private teams and one-to-one direct messages. Messages, groups, storage and search are unlimited on every plan.
- Topic-threaded chat
- Topics keep a discussion threaded under its own subject, apart from the running chat. Topics are unlimited on every plan.
- Task management
- Personal and team task boards with checklists, tags, assignees, due dates and alerts. A chat message can be converted into one or more tasks.
- Voice and video calls (beta)
- Unlimited calls with up to 5 users per call, including screen sharing. Ryver labels the feature as beta.
- Integrations, webhooks and API
- Share files from Google Drive, Dropbox or Box, build inbound and outbound webhooks and bots, use the REST API, or connect other apps through a Zapier subscription.
