Best for product reviews and loyalty from one company

Stamped asks shoppers for a review by email or text, lets them write it right inside the email, and shows reviews, photos and Q&A on your store. A loyalty program comes from the same company, on its own bill. What sends people elsewhere is price: there's no free plan, and a shop past 200 orders a month jumps from $23 to $99.

Who Stamped is for

  • Great if you want product reviews and a loyalty program from one company
  • Handy when you already send your store's email through Klaviyo
  • Good for stores that want their star ratings showing in Google Shopping

Who Stamped is not for

  • Pricey if you're past 200 orders a month, as the next step up is $99
  • Skip it if you want to start free, as there's no free plan or trial
  • Tight if you want loyalty as well, since it's billed apart from $299 a month

Why Stamped gets a 1.8

Five grades, each with its reason. The GPA is their average: an A is 4 points, an F is none.

  • DValue for moneyAt 300 orders a month you're past the $23 plan's 200-order cap, so it's Reviews (1k) at $99 a month, with the same features as the $23 plan. Set against its listed rivals at that size, only Okendo costs more. And every order counts toward the cap, even when no request is sent.
  • FFree plan and trialNothing free: no free plan and no trial on its Shopify listing. Stamped says reviews only show in its widgets on a paid plan, so you're paying from day one.
  • BFeaturesThe whole job: requests by email and text, reviews written inside the email, photo and video reviews, Q&A, Google Shopping and rich snippets, imports, and sharing reviews across grouped products or stores. Loyalty, referrals and VIP tiers are there too, on their own plan.
  • CEase of useNo store rating on record. It installs from the Shopify App Store and sends requests after each order, but you still pick widgets, set up the emails and texts, and keep an eye on the monthly order cap.
  • BPlatforms and integrationsWeb, with Shopify, Klaviyo, Gorgias, Recharge, Shopify Flow, Google Shopping, Facebook and Instagram. Stores on other platforms are pointed to stamped.io. No phone or desktop app is listed, so B is the top.

Keep Stamped, or make your own?

Keep it

The plain part of Stamped you could make: review collection and reports. What surrounds it you could not. The 3 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.

That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 13 of the 14 other customer review tools grade higher. It costs $276 a year.

What you could make

  • Review collection and reports: an app builder makes these well.

What you could not

  • It plugs into other products, Shopify, Klaviyo and Gorgias among them.
  • Hooks into the device itself: widgets.
  • The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.

What this rests on. Stamped’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.

What is Stamped?

Stamped is a product review app for online stores, mainly on Shopify. It emails or texts shoppers after an order to ask for a review with photos or video, shows the reviews, star ratings and Q&A in widgets on the store, and sends them to Google Shopping. A separate Loyalty plan adds points, referrals and VIP tiers, and every plan is priced by monthly orders.

Stamped is a paid product, starting at $23 per month for up to 200 orders. See every plan

Good for

  • Shopify stores that want product reviews and a loyalty program from one vendor
  • Brands that already send email through Klaviyo
  • Stores that want product ratings to appear in Google Shopping

Worth knowing

  • There is no free plan any more: Stamped says reviews only show in its widgets on a paid plan.
  • Every order counts toward the monthly limit, even with no request sent; at the limit, requests queue until you upgrade or the month resets.
  • Loyalty is billed apart from reviews, from $299 a month; the Full Suite plan that combines them has no price on the Shopify listing.
  • These prices are from Stamped's Shopify App Store listing; stores on other platforms are pointed to stamped.io for their options.
