Value for money
BTen dollars a person on Plus is fair when it replaces your docs, wiki and tracker. The sting is the AI agent and meeting notes sitting on Business, which is double.
BPlus is $8 a month billed yearly, with 2,000 AI credits, unlimited workspaces and Google Calendar sync. That's the upper end of typical for note apps. Pro is $14 for 5,000 credits, Readwise and the Input API. Students, academics and NGOs get 50% off.
Free plan and trial
AIf it's only you, it's unlimited pages for nothing, plus 10 guests. We don't know a more generous free plan in this category.
AThe outliner is free, with supertags, tasks, public page links and up to 3 workspaces. You also get 500 AI credits a month, though Free users can't buy more. File storage stops at 0.5 GB with a 5 MB upload limit. Paid plans have a 14-day trial.
Features
ADocs, databases, forms, websites, automations, a calendar app, AI agents. They added shareable agent skills in September 2026. There's a lot here, maybe too much.
ASupertags give a node its own template of fields, and the same nodes can show as an outline, table, cards, calendar or list. Search nodes are live queries. A notetaker transcribes meeting audio from your computer in real time, voice memos are transcribed too, and any node can become a public web page.
Ease of use
CThis is the weak spot. People who get through setup love it, but "it took me ages to figure out" is the complaint you see most, and a blank workspace doesn't help.
BNo rating on record, so a B is our ceiling. Each day gets its own page for daily notes and quick capture, so there's always somewhere to start typing.
Platforms and integrations
BWeb, Mac, Windows, iPhone, Android, a web clipper, an API, and it talks to Slack, GitHub, Jira and friends. No Linux app on the download page though.
AWeb, a desktop app for Mac, Windows and Linux that works offline, and iOS and Android apps that capture text, voice and photos. Google Calendar syncs on Plus. Readwise and the Input API are Pro only.

Key features

Notion

Docs and pages
Pages hold text, media and embeds. Several people can edit the same page, leave comments and @-mention each other.
Databases
Databases organize hundreds or thousands of items such as projects or tasks. Charts are limited to 1 on Free, and database automations start on Plus.
Wikis
A knowledge base keeps team documentation in one place. Private teamspaces for restricting access need the Business plan.
Notion Agent, Meeting Notes and Search
The AI agent, meeting transcription with summaries and search across connected apps are included from Business. Free and Plus get a limited trial.
Forms and Sites
Collect responses into a database and publish pages to the web. Custom forms start on Plus, conditional logic on Business, and custom domains are billed per domain.
Offline pages
The desktop and mobile apps can view, edit and create pages offline. Free users pick pages to download; paid plans also download recent and favorite pages automatically.

Tana Outliner

Outliner with supertags
Everything is a node in an infinite outline. Applying a supertag turns a node into a typed object with a template of fields.
Day nodes
Each day has its own page, called a day node, which serves as the place for daily notes and quick capture.
Views and search nodes
The same nodes can be shown as an outline, table, cards, calendar or list. Search nodes are live queries that find and display matching nodes.
Meeting notetaker and voice memos
The notetaker records audio from your computer and transcribes it in real time, and voice memos are transcribed too. Both draw on the monthly AI credits.
AI chat and custom workflows
AI chat, command nodes and image generation are built in. Custom AI workflows with a choice of models need the Plus plan.
Capture, publishing and apps
Any node can become a public web page. A desktop app for Mac, Windows and Linux works offline, and iOS and Android apps capture text, voice and photos.
