Quo
Business phone app for calls and texts on shared team numbers

Our verdict
Third of our top three business phone systems
For: Small teams that share a number and text customers a lot
Quo, formerly OpenPhone, lets several teammates share one number with a common call and text history, and calls and texts to the US and Canada are unlimited under a fair use policy. Starter is $15 per user a month, billed annually ($19 monthly), on the web, Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android, and its iPhone and iPad app averages 4.4 from about 10,800 ratings. It is third because a team pays per person where Grasshopper charges one flat fee, and phone menus, call transfers, automatic recording and HubSpot or Salesforce need Business at $23 per user ($33 monthly).

Best for small teams sharing one business number
Quo, which used to be OpenPhone, gives you a business number for calls and texts that the whole team can share, with one history everyone sees. Starter is $15 a person a month on yearly billing. But phone menus, call transfers and CRM links all wait for Business at $23.
Who Quo is for
- Great if you want a work number on your own phone, apart from your personal one
- Handy when a few people share one sales or support line and need the same history
- A treat if you like plugging your phone line into ChatGPT or Claude
Who Quo is not for
- Tight if you're on Starter and want a phone menu or call transfers, as those need Business
- Not for you if you call abroad a lot, since calls outside the US and Canada are billed per minute
- Pricey if Sona answers lots of calls, as each one past the plan's credits costs $0.45 to $1.00
Why Quo gets a 2.8

Keep Quo, or make your own?
Keep it
To replace Quo you would be making phone numbers and calls carried over the phone network. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.
It is one of the better ones too: its GPA of 2.8 is higher than 16 of the 19 other business phone systems we grade. It costs $180 a year.
What you could not
- Phone numbers and calls carried over the phone network.
- One mailbox that several people work at once.
- An AI model answering your customers from your own help articles.
- Texts from a business number, registered with the carriers.
- Speech turned into text you can trust.
- Apps for macOS, Windows, iOS and Android that stay in step with each other.
- It is priced for each person, which means accounts and billing for a team.
- It plugs into other products, HubSpot, Salesforce and Pipedrive among them, and has an API.
- AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
- The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.
