Value for money
APremium is $34.49 a year on the US Mac App Store, which is under $3 a month where the middle here is about $9. That buys unlimited accounts, email tracking, app integrations and Exchange support on up to 3 devices. Paying once is $159.00. Mailbird's own site prices in local currency, so yours may differ.
APro is $5 a month billed annually, or $6.99 monthly, for unlimited accounts, read receipts and templates plus 200 AI actions a day. That's under what most paid mail apps start at. Shared inboxes need Team at $12 a user, with a 2-seat minimum.
Free plan and trial
BThere's a free version, but it's 1 email account on 1 device, with Knowledge Base support only. No email tracking, no app integrations and no Exchange support. Fine if you've got one address. Most people after a unified inbox have more.
BFree on every app, with a unified inbox, snooze, send later and signatures. But it stops at 2 email accounts, 3 templates, 15 read receipts a month and 20 AI actions a day. Fine for a work and a home address, tight beyond that.
Features
BA unified inbox, tracking that shows who opened a sent message, snooze, send later, a ChatGPT integration that drafts for you, and apps like Slack and WhatsApp open inside it. Solid. But most of that is Premium, and Mailbird for Mac can't connect POP3 accounts.
APer-recipient read receipts, snooze, send later, templates and full-text search across every account at once. A Today view triages the inbox by priority, and an MCP server lets Claude search, draft and schedule email. Emails save to Todoist, Trello or Asana in one click.
Ease of use
BNo rating on record, so a B is our ceiling. It's a desktop app you install and add your accounts to. The Mac version needs macOS Ventura or later.
B4.3 from about 3,100 App Store ratings, so decent, not glowing. Sent emails are tracked without any extra step, and snoozes sync across your devices.
Platforms and integrations
BWindows and Mac only. There's no iOS, Android, web or Linux version, and the pricing FAQ says mobile apps are on the roadmap. On the desktop it opens Slack, WhatsApp, Google Calendar, Dropbox, Asana, Trello and Microsoft Teams inside the app.
AMac, Windows, iPhone, iPad and Android, with a Linux build linked from the homepage. It connects to Todoist, Evernote, OneNote, Trello, Asana, Zendesk and Salesforce, and has an MCP server. No webmail, though: the web portal is only for account and settings.
