What is Boomerang?

Boomerang is a browser extension that adds scheduling and follow-up tools to Gmail and Google Workspace email. It can send a message later, bring a message back to the inbox at a chosen time, remind you when nobody replies, and pause incoming mail. It also handles meeting scheduling from inside an email. A free Basic plan allows 10 message credits a month, and paid plans remove that limit and add the iPhone and Android apps.

Boomerang has a free plan. Paid plans start at $4.98 per month, billed annually (Personal, Gmail addresses only). See every plan

Good for

  • Gmail users who want scheduled sending and follow-up reminders
  • People who arrange meetings by email rather than a separate tool
  • Holding back incoming email to protect blocks of focus time

Worth knowing

  • The free Basic plan allows 10 message credits a month, counted across Send Later, reminders, response tracking and read receipts.
  • Personal is limited to @gmail.com addresses; Google Workspace accounts need Pro or Premium.
  • The iPhone and Android apps are not part of the free Basic plan.
  • This entry covers Boomerang for Gmail, a browser extension. Boomerang for Outlook is a separate product with its own subscription.
