Value for money
BStandard is $9.99 a month and Pro is $19.99, as US App Store in-app purchases, with a yearly subscription at $89.99. That's about what video tools here typically start at. But the store listings don't say what Standard adds to the free version, so we can't call it a bargain.
BPremium comes with Microsoft 365 Personal, at $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year. That's about typical for video tools here, and the Microsoft 365 suite comes along with it. But it isn't sold separately, so you pay for the suite even if all you wanted was 4K export.
Free plan and trial
BFree to download, with basic editing, effects, filters and background removal. But the limits bite. On the desktop app in the US, auto captions get 1 free use a month, and the Windows listing marks keyframes, chroma key and stabilization as Pro only.
AFree gives unlimited watermark-free exports at up to 1080p, the editing tools, the recorders, AI subtitles, voiceovers and silence removal. Most people could stay on it. 4K, premium stock assets and the brand kit are what's held back.
Features
AA multi-track timeline, speed from 0.1x to 100x, keyframes, chroma key, stabilization, auto captions, text-to-speech, background removal and hundreds of effects. Exports go up to 4K 60fps. That's the whole job, from the first cut to captions and music.
AA timeline editor with text, filters and color correction, plus a screen, camera and voice recorder. AI subtitles cover over 80 languages and text to speech has over 400 voices. It cleans up background noise and filler words, and there are templates and stock footage. That's the whole job.
Ease of use
A4.6 from about 1.1 million App Store ratings. Commenters call it easier to get going with than the professional video tools, and reviewers keep coming back for the ready-made templates.
BNo store rating on record, so a B is as high as we go. It runs in the browser, and on Windows 11 it's already in the Start menu. Nothing to buy or set up to make a first video.
Platforms and integrations
AiPhone, iPad, Android, Mac and Windows, so phone and desktop are both covered. It shares straight to TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp.
BA browser editor that works in Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome, and a Windows app, tied into OneDrive and Microsoft 365. Microsoft ended support for the iOS app on June 9, 2026, and the browser editor isn't optimized for touch devices like iPads.
