How we grade them

|---|---|---|
| Value for money | APro Plus is $6 a month billed annually ($72), or $8 month to month. That's about half what tools in this category usually start at, and it buys unlimited recording length, 10 GB uploads and 100 GB of storage. | ANon-Commercial is $2.5 a month billed yearly, or $3 monthly, with unlimited video recording and 10 GB or more of storage. Commercial, the one you need at work, is $5 per user billed yearly ($10 monthly). Both sit well under what tools here usually charge. |
| Free plan and trial | CNo free plan. You get a 3-day free trial with no credit card needed, and that's it. Three days is short, so have something to record ready before you start the clock. | BUnlimited screenshots on the Free plan, which is generous. But video stops at 5 minutes, storage is 2 GB, each upload is capped at 100 MB, and the cloud integrations go after 30 days. It's for personal and family use only, too. |
| Features | BAnnotated screenshots with a blur tool, screen recording with a webcam as video or GIF, uploads up to 10 GB and a link shortener. Solid. But editing stops at trimming, and viewer analytics, SSO and AI auto-redaction are Enterprise only. | BFull-screen, area or window captures with an 8x magnifier, delayed shots and custom hotkeys, then a pen, text, arrows, shapes and blur. It records screencasts and GIFs as well. Solid basics. The listing shows no video editor, and team accounts and private links wait until Commercial. |
| Ease of use | BNo rating is on record to go by, so a B. The idea is simple enough: capture something and its link is already on your clipboard. There's nothing to wire up first. | BNo rating is on record to go by, so a B. Capture, mark it up, get a short link: there isn't much to learn. Pointing it at your own Dropbox, S3 or FTP storage is there if you want it, and optional. |
| Platforms and integrations | BMac, Windows, and Chrome and Edge extensions, with hooks into Slack, Jira, Confluence, Gmail and Microsoft Teams. The apps page offers no phone app and no Linux app, though. | BMac, Windows and a Chrome extension, and paid plans send captures to Dropbox, Google Drive, Box, Evernote, Amazon S3, FTP and more. No Linux or mobile app is listed. |
| Best for | cheap links for screenshots and recordings | cheap annotated screenshots with a share link |
