Value for money
CSnack is $6.99 a month or $58.99 a year, which sounds fine until you see it covers 1 email account and any 2 features. Lunch is $11.99 for 2 accounts and 6 features. Only Dinner has the lot, at $35.99 a month or $299.99 a year. That's a steep climb for filtering.
AIt's free, and no paid tier is listed. What you hand over is data instead: owner NielsenIQ uses information from your commercial emails for market research. If you're fine with that trade, the price can't be beaten.
Free plan and trial
CNo free plan. You get a 7-day free trial of any plan with no credit card required, then it's a paid subscription or nothing. We think a week is short for a filter that has to learn your habits.
AThe whole service is free on the web, iPhone and Android, across multiple email accounts. Nothing is held back for a paid plan, because there isn't one.
Features
AIt learns from how you handle mail and moves the unimportant stuff to SaneLater, with a Daily Digest of what it filtered. SaneBlackHole keeps a sender out for good. Add snooze folders, reminders when a sent email gets no reply, and a do-not-disturb mode. For filtering, that's the full kit.
BIt does one job and does it fully: list your subscriptions, then Keep, Block or Rollup each one, singly or in bulk. The Rollup gathers the senders you pick into one daily email. That's all it does, mind. The site describes no other inbox tools.
Ease of use
A4.6 from about 650 App Store ratings. There's no new app to learn: its folders simply show up in whichever email client or device you already use.
A4.7 from about 132,000 App Store ratings. Connect an email account, run down the list and pick one of three choices for each sender. You can change your mind later from the Subscriptions tab.
Platforms and integrations
BIt works with Gmail, Microsoft 365, iCloud, Yahoo, Fastmail and other IMAP or Exchange accounts, with a web account plus iPhone and Android companion apps. Those apps aren't email clients, though, and nothing beyond mail accounts is listed to connect to.
BWeb, iPhone and Android, and it works with Gmail, Google Apps, iCloud, Yahoo, AOL and Outlook accounts. No desktop app is listed, and other mail providers aren't supported.
