Value for money
A$39 per user a year, which works out far below what tools here usually charge. Yearly is the only way to pay, mind: there's no monthly option. Individual subscriptions can't be transferred to someone else either.
BCreate is $9.95 per user a month billed annually, or $12.95 monthly, for unlimited recording time at up to 4K, transcription and 5 GB of storage. About typical for video tools here. Zendesk, Intercom, Jira and the other premium integrations are a paid add-on below the Scale plan.
Free plan and trial
CNo free plan. You get a 15-day free trial with no credit card needed, which is long enough to find out if it suits you. After that it's a yearly subscription or nothing.
BThe Share plan is free, with annotated screenshots, 15-second GIFs and 5 Video Requests a month. But recordings stop at 5 minutes and 720p, storage is 1 GB, and you can only get at your last 50 captures.
Features
ARegion, window and long scrolling captures, Step Capture that turns your clicks into a numbered guide, arrows, callouts and team Themes, and Smart Redact that finds emails, phone numbers and card details and hides them. It records screen and webcam too. Capture is covered in depth. Video stops at trimming clips.
AScreen and webcam recording, scrolling screenshots with arrows and text, GIFs, and Request Video links. Paid plans transcribe in 50+ languages and turn a recording into a step-by-step guide. There's a meeting recorder that returns notes and action items too. That covers the job and then some.
Ease of use
BNo rating is on record to go by, so a B. It's a desktop app you unlock by signing in, and a searchable library keeps your captures in one place. Nothing to configure before the first screenshot.
B4.5 from about 1,200 App Store ratings. You record, and the link is on your clipboard before you've thought about where to upload it. The person you send a Request Video link to needs no account.
Platforms and integrations
BWindows and macOS, sending captures to Slack, Google Drive, Dropbox, Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and YouTube. No phone app, and some features belong to one system, such as time-lapse and printer capture on Windows.
BMac, Windows, a Chrome extension, the web and an iPhone app, and it connects to Slack, Microsoft Teams, Gmail, Jira and Notion. But the mobile app is iOS only, so there's nothing for Android, and that keeps it off an A.
