SkedPal
Auto-scheduling calendar that time-blocks your to-do list
What is SkedPal?
SkedPal is a task manager and calendar that schedules a to-do list automatically. Tasks live in a nested outline, and the scheduler places them into time blocks based on priorities, deadlines, durations, preferred hours and the events already on connected calendars, then reschedules when plans change. It is paid-only after a 14-day trial, with Core and Pro plans.
SkedPal is a paid product with a free trial, starting at $9.95 per month, billed annually. See every plan
Good for
- People with long task lists who want the calendar filled in for them
- Planning around deadlines and preferred working hours, not fixed slots
- Asana users who want personal scheduling on top of team projects
Worth knowing
- There is no free plan. A paid subscription is needed once the 14-day trial ends, and processed charges are non-refundable.
- Core syncs one calendar account and schedules 21 days ahead. Unlimited accounts, the 60-day window and the Status Tracker need Pro.
- The macOS, Windows and Linux downloads are Status Tracker apps. Planning itself is done in the web app.
- Sign-up and the guided tour must be completed in a desktop web browser before the mobile apps can be used.
Key features
- Automatic scheduling
- Places tasks on the calendar using priorities, deadlines, durations and availability, and reschedules them when something changes. Core plans 21 days ahead and Pro 60 days.
- Outline with nested lists
- Projects, tasks and sub-tasks are kept in an outline with unlimited nesting. Durations, due dates and plans can be typed straight into a task title.
- Time Maps and time budgeting
- Time Maps define the hours you prefer for each kind of work, and time budgets allocate a set amount of time to zones such as deep work or admin.
- Prioritization board
- A board for ranking tasks by relative priority, so the most important work is scheduled first.
- Calendar sync
- Two-way sync with Google, Office 365 and iCloud calendars. Core connects a single calendar account; Pro allows unlimited accounts.
- Status Tracker
- A Pro feature that follows the day in real time: start, stop, defer or skip tasks and track the time spent, from desktop apps, the web app or the mobile apps.
