How we grade them

|---|---|---|
| Value for money | BPlus is $12.99 a month or $99.99 a year on the US App Store, so about $8.33 a month if you pay yearly. That's the middle of the pack for a planner. It buys the AI timing advice, your own categories, and no cap on Day Plans or goals. | AWeel+ is $39.99 a year on the US App Store, about $3.33 a month, against a typical $8 for a planner. Skip the monthly, which is $7.99. The App Store also lists Supporter and lifetime items without explaining how they differ. |
| Free plan and trial | BThe clock planner, seasonal goals, the My Moai friends group and Apple Health and Watch support are all free. But Day Plans and goals are capped on the free version, and Owaves doesn't say at how many. | BThe dial, notes and checklists on events, travel time, time zones, widgets and the Apple Watch are all free. But a second calendar and repeating events need Weel+, and a calendar with no repeating events is tight. |
| Features | BA 24-hour clock view, Day Plans that repeat by weekday or season, goals, and Apple Health to compare the plan with what you really did. But your own categories are locked to Plus, and the FAQ says the iPad app has most, not all, of the iPhone's features. | BA 24-hour dial, drag-to-set events, critical events with several alarms, checklists on events, time zone overlays and travel time. Solid for a visual day. But it only reads Apple Calendar, so Google and Exchange accounts have to be added in iOS settings first. |
| Ease of use | A4.6 from about 1,800 App Store ratings. The whole day sits on one clock face, so you can see where sleep ends and work starts without reading a list. | B4.4 from about 430 App Store ratings. You touch and drag on the dial to set a start, then use a slider for how long, so there's no end time to work out. |
| Platforms and integrations | DiPhone, iPad and Apple Watch only, which is really one operating system. Apple Health and your device's calendars sync in, and that's the lot. There's no Mac or web version, and Android is a waitlist with no release date. | DiPhone, iPad and Apple Watch only, which is really one operating system, working through Apple Calendar. The Watch complications need a Series 4 or later. Android is a sign-up list with no release date. |
| Best for | seeing your whole day on a 24-hour clock | seeing your calendar as a 24-hour dial |

Who each one suits
Owaves
- People who want to plan sleep, meals and exercise alongside work
- Visual planners who prefer a 24-hour clock face to a list or grid
- iPhone and Apple Watch users who already track activity in Apple Health
Weel
- People with ADHD or time blindness who want the whole day in one image
- Scheduling calls and travel across several time zones
- iPhone and Apple Watch users who already keep events in Apple Calendar
Worth knowing
Owaves
- It runs on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch only: the vendor has no Mac or web version, and Android is a waitlist with no release date.
- Custom categories, unlimited Day Plans, unlimited goals and the AI recommendations need the Plus subscription.
- A Pro tier with one-on-one coaching was announced in 2025, but the US App Store lists prices for Plus only.
- The vendor's FAQ says the iPad app has most, but not all, iPhone features; My Moai was still being added.
Weel
- It runs on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch only; Android is a sign-up list with no release date given.
- Multiple calendars and repeating events are Weel+ features, as is travel time on recurring events.
- Google and Exchange calendars appear only after those accounts are added in iOS settings, because Weel reads from Apple Calendar.
- The App Store lists overlapping purchases (Weel+, Supporter and a PiCal Pro lifetime item) without explaining how they differ.
Key features
Owaves
- My Clock
- A circular view shows all 24 hours of the day at once, with activities such as sleep, meals, exercise and work placed around the clock face.
- Day Plans
- A day's layout can be saved as a named Day Plan and set to repeat on chosen weekdays or seasons, then pinned or archived. Plus removes the limit on how many can be kept.
- BodyClock AI recommendations
- Plus gives daily time windows for deep sleep, deep work, peak fitness and eating, drawn from your chronotype, tracked activities and Apple Health data.
- My Goals
- Long-term goals are set season by season and collected into a vision board. Goals can also be shown on a home screen widget.
- My Moai
- A peer support group inside the app for adding friends and family, sharing progress and seeing each other's routines.
- Apple Health, Watch and calendar sync
- Apple Health supplies actual sleep and exercise to compare with the plan, the Apple Watch shows the day, and calendars on the device can be synced in.
Weel
- 24-hour dial
- The entire day is one circular image. The clock hand follows the sun's path and shows how much time is left before the next event.
- Touch-and-drag events
- Touch and drag on the dial to set when an event starts, then use a duration slider instead of working out the end time. A small dial shows clashes.
- Critical and muted events
- Marking an event critical adds several alarms at once and a red visual cue. Muting silences its alarms and drops it from the next-event queue.
- Checklists on events
- Notes and to-do lists attach to an event, so the reminder of what to bring or prepare arrives with the event itself.
- Time zones and travel time
- Added time zones are overlaid on the schedule and rotate together on the dial, and travel time can be set between events.
- Widgets and Apple Watch
- Home screen widgets and Apple Watch complications show the day's dial outside the app. The complications need a Series 4 watch or later.
