Who each one suits

Tweek

  • People who plan by the week and do not want an hourly schedule
  • Families and small teams sharing one simple weekly to-do calendar
  • Paper-planner users who want a printable weekly layout

Will Be Done

  • People who plan a week at a time instead of working from a daily list
  • Self-hosters who want their task data on a server they control
  • Keyboard users who like Vim-style navigation
  • Working offline and syncing when a connection returns

Worth knowing

Tweek

  • The free version is limited to 1 active calendar and 2 custom colors, and leaves out calendar sync, the monthly view, subtasks, recurring tasks and reminders.
  • The 14-day trial applies only to the annual Individual plan. Monthly and Family subscriptions are charged right away.
  • The Family plan is available on the website only, not through the App Store or Google Play.
  • There is no Windows app. The Mac version requires macOS 12 and an Apple M1 chip or later.

Will Be Done

  • The cloud is free only during the alpha. The site says it will then cost $3 per month, with 3 free months for people who registered during the alpha.
  • Tasks are scheduled to days, not times of day, and the FAQ says time-of-day scheduling is not planned for now.
  • It is a single-user planner: the FAQ says shared projects and multi-user spaces are not planned for now.
  • Phones use an installable web app (PWA) because there are no app store builds yet, and end-to-end encryption is not implemented.

Key features

Tweek

Week view without hourly slots
The planner opens on a week of day columns where tasks are simply listed and moved around. A day view is included, and the monthly view is part of Premium.
Calendar sync
Premium syncs both ways with Google, Outlook and Apple calendars and with Apple Reminders, which also lets you add tasks by voice through Siri.
Notes, subtasks and attachments
Premium tasks can carry notes, checklists, subtasks, files and photos, so a task can double as a shopping list or a small project.
Recurring tasks and reminders
Premium tasks can repeat daily, weekly, monthly, yearly or on a custom schedule, with reminders by push notification, email or both.
Sharing and publishing
Calendars can be shared for real-time collaboration or published to the web by link. Sharing is free for unlimited users.
Printable planner, API and MCP
The week can be printed as a paper planner. An API, an MCP server and ChatGPT and Claude apps work on the free plan with a lower request quota.

Will Be Done

Weekly timeline
Each day of the week is a column holding an ordered list of tasks. Tasks are dragged between days, and unfinished ones keep their day with a yellow marker instead of rolling into today.
Local-first sync
Every device holds a complete local database, so reading, creating and moving tasks works with no network. Changes sync through the cloud or a self-hosted server once a connection returns.
Vim-style keyboard control
Vim keybindings cover navigation, task creation, completion and moving work to another day. The desktop apps add a global shortcut that opens a quick-add window from any app.
Project kanban boards
Each project has a kanban board with columns you define, and separate spaces keep work and personal projects apart. A stash holds tasks that have no day yet.
Self-hosting with Docker
The server runs as one Docker container with SQLite storage and no external services. The web app, desktop app, sync server and API are licensed under AGPL-3.0.
HTTP API and importers
A documented HTTP API with bearer tokens reaches spaces, projects, tasks, checklists and schedules. Tasks can be imported from Todoist with an API token or from a TickTick CSV export.
