Best for recording calls with no bot, on any platform

Bluedot records your meetings without a bot: a Chrome extension or desktop app captures the call on your own machine, and the phone and Apple Watch apps cover meetings in person. Notes follow templates and sync out to Slack, Notion and more. It isn't cheap for what the entry plan gives, though. Basic is $14 a month on the yearly plan, audio only, with an hour's limit on each recording.

Who Bluedot is for

  • Great if you don't want a bot joining your calls
  • Handy when you recruit or sell for a living and want notes synced to an ATS or CRM
  • Good for meetings in person, recorded from your phone or Apple Watch

Who Bluedot is not for

  • Not for you if you want a free plan to stay on, as free stops after 5 meetings in total
  • Tight if your calls run past an hour or you want video, because Basic is audio only with a 1-hour limit
  • Skip it if you might cancel and come back, since recordings are deleted unless you restore within a month

Why Bluedot gets a 3.0

Five grades, each with its reason. The GPA is their average: an A is 4 points, an F is none.

  • CValue for moneyBasic is $14 a user a month billed yearly, or $18 monthly, above what notetakers usually start at, and it records audio only with a 1-hour limit per recording. Video and unlimited length need Pro at $20, and CRM and ATS links need Business at $32. Only people who record are billed.
  • CFree plan and trialThe free plan covers your first 5 meetings ever, not 5 a month. Bluedot itself describes it as a lifetime trial. After that you can only view and share what you've already recorded.
  • AFeaturesIt captures audio and video on your own device from Zoom, Meet, Teams, Webex and Slack huddles, with no bot and no calendar access. Notes follow templates in over 100 languages, an AI chat answers across meetings, and you can comment on moments and clip highlights.
  • BEase of useInstall the Chrome extension or desktop app and record, with no bot to invite and no calendar to connect. There's no rating on record to show how people get on with it, so it stops at a B.
  • APlatforms and integrationsWeb, Mac, Windows, iPhone, Android, Apple Watch and a Chrome extension. Notes go to Slack, Notion, Zapier and Make on every plan, with webhooks and MCP from Basic. HubSpot, Salesforce and the other CRM and ATS links wait for Business.

What is Bluedot?

Bluedot records and transcribes meetings without sending a bot into the call. A Chrome extension or a desktop app captures the conversation on the user's own device, and mobile and Apple Watch apps record meetings held in person. It produces notes from templates, answers questions across meetings through an AI chat, and syncs notes to CRMs, applicant tracking systems and other tools.

Bluedot is a paid product with a free trial, starting at $14 per user / month, billed annually. See every plan

Good for

  • People who do not want a bot joining their calls
  • Recruiters and sales teams that sync notes to an ATS or CRM
  • Recording in-person meetings from a phone or Apple Watch
  • Workspaces where only some members record, since only they are billed

Worth knowing

  • The Free plan covers 5 meetings in total, not per month. Bluedot itself describes it as a lifetime trial.
  • Basic records audio only and limits each recording to 1 hour. Video and unlimited duration need Pro.
  • CRM and ATS integrations, SSO and SCIM need Business at $32 per user a month on annual billing.
  • After a cancellation, recordings are inaccessible and are permanently deleted if the subscription is not restored within a month.
