3.2GPA

Best for transcribing meetings and files in 58 languages

Notta transcribes pretty much anything with speech in it: Zoom, Meet, Teams and Webex calls, a chat across the table, an uploaded file or a YouTube link, in 58 languages with translation. Notta Brain then answers questions across your recordings and builds slides from them. Don't judge it by the free plan, though, which only transcribes the first 3 minutes of each conversation.

Who Notta is for

  • Great if you transcribe uploaded files and YouTube links as well as live meetings
  • Handy when your team works in more than one language and needs transcripts translated
  • Good for recording a chat across the table on your phone alongside your online calls

Who Notta is not for

  • Tight if you're staying free, because only the first 3 minutes of each conversation get transcribed
  • Not for you if you need live translation often, as it's 2 to 4 free uses a month before a paid add-on
  • Pricey if you want unlimited transcription, which waits for Business at $16.67 a seat

Why Notta gets a 3.2

Five grades, each with its reason. The GPA is their average: an A is 4 points, an F is none.

  • BValue for moneyPro is $8.17 a month billed yearly ($97.99), about what notetakers start at, for 1,800 minutes a month and recordings up to 5 hours. Monthly billing is $13.49. Unlimited transcription, meeting video and the CRM and Zapier links need Business at $16.67 a seat.
  • BFree plan and trialThere is a free plan, with 120 minutes a month, 50 file uploads and 10 AI summaries. But it only transcribes the first 3 minutes of each conversation, so it's a taster more than a plan to stay on.
  • AFeaturesA bot joins Zoom, Meet, Teams and Webex, or the desktop app records with nothing in the call. Live transcription with speaker labels in 58 languages, a mode for two languages at once, summaries with action items, file and YouTube transcription, and screen recording.
  • CEase of use4.1 from about 1,400 App Store ratings, which is low for this category. The counting doesn't help: minutes, file uploads, AI summaries and AI credits each have their own monthly quota.
  • APlatforms and integrationsWeb, Mac, Windows, iPhone, Android and a Chrome extension. It connects to Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, Webex, Slack, Notion, Salesforce and HubSpot. The bot-free desktop app for Mac and Windows is still labelled a beta.

What is Notta?

Notta records and transcribes online meetings, in-person conversations and uploaded audio or video, then produces summaries and action items. It can join Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Webex calls with a bot or record from a desktop app without one, and it transcribes and translates in 58 languages. Notta Brain answers questions across past recordings and generates slides, documents and infographics from them.

Notta has a free plan. Paid plans start at $8.17 per month, billed annually ($97.99 per year). See every plan

Good for

  • People who transcribe uploaded files and YouTube links as well as live meetings
  • Multilingual teams that need transcripts translated
  • Recording in-person conversations on a phone alongside online calls

Worth knowing

  • The Free plan transcribes only the first 3 minutes of each conversation, within 120 minutes a month.
  • Pro is a single-seat plan capped at 1,800 minutes a month. Unlimited transcription, meeting video and CRM or Zapier integrations need Business.
  • Real-time translation is limited to 2 to 4 free uses a month. More needs an add-on from $6 a month, billed annually, sold only with paid plans.
  • Notta Desktop, the bot-free recorder for Mac and Windows, is labeled a beta.

Key features

File and link transcription
Upload audio or video files, or paste a YouTube link, and get a transcript. Uploads are capped at 50 a month on Free, 100 on Pro and 200 on Business.
